Hi there,
I'm sorry because I love to give good reviews, but there I cannot. So I would like to say first, that maybe, I've been unlucky this day with the dishes I chose, because I'm reading many other good comments, so I'm confused !
I had a dry very overcooked piece of salmon unseasoned as the mashed potatoes. Don't be in a hurry as the service is pretty long (30mn) and it was only 2 tables (ours included) (I supposed the fish needed time to defrost) My Italian friend said nothing about his dish but didn't seems very happy about it as he even didn't comment it and asked me if I could eat mine ! No comments = not too good ! But edible.
Then, tiramisu... ok, not too sweet which I liked, a bit dry, not too much Mascarpone nor coffee taste in the biscuit. The wine was good !!!
For the service, I know the job, I've done it for more than 10 years. Not funny every day, I can understand... But at least, just smile and be friendly even if you don't speak english. I make the effort to speak thai even if I'm not fluent yet. At least you have a job, it may not be what you dreamed about, but that's a start ! Use it for learning and go further ! This is not the worst position you could have, is it ? Anyway, THANK YOU to the ONE girl who stand out and has been listenning and did her best to answer our questions and made the effort in english, the manager I guess ? Or she should be ;) I hope I will have the opportunity to give this restaurant another try sometimes to prove me wrong. Whatsoever, I will probably order some italian products from them to cook home as they have a good range of cheeses, meats, wines and other italian goods at fair prices and the quality looks good too ! All the best and good luck...
Read moreGood food and wine spoiled by awful service.
I came for a comfort meal and went away furious. The braised beef in wine sauce was delicious: meat tender and full of taste (sauce could have been a tad thicker but that doesn't take away from my pleasure).
The wine collection is fabulous and even the house wine which I had was a gorgeous, velvety Montepulciano
Now for the bad part.
The waitresses were sweet and charming but utterly clueless. Once the girl had served me, she never came back. Never checked up, never asked if everything was OK, never asked if I wanted another glass, left me sitting in front of an empty plate without returning to ask if I wanted some cheese (they have excellent cheese) or dessert or coffee. Or even the bill. This despite many meaningful glances from my side. They were more intent on cleaning the tables and resetting places.
And it wasn't as if the place was crowded. 4 tables...
I don't blame the girls, I blame the owner . You can't take country girls, however keen and polite, and expect them to serve Italian food without training them up to standards in Italy.
This was my first return trip after being stuck in Europe for nearly 3 years due to COVID. Big...
Read moreI'm sorry to write a bad review, but this place deserves more. The food is frozen, not fresh and generally mediocre. The lasagna is not hand made, but it is the same as the one in the freezer. Same thing for tiramisu, pizza, tortellini and much more. All frozen.
Bread, grissini and cured meats are very good.
Service is very slow, they forgot things and they messed up with bills.
I wanted to write a good review because the place is nice, the location is well made, the music is good. The environment is pleasant. The problem is it very far from city center and very hidden. Difficult to find.
I really think this place has a very good potential, but they need to improve A LOT. They should improve staff, food, management and marketing at least.
Suggested for a quick bite or for buying good cheeses and cured meats, but not for dinner.
Overpriced for...
