On a mission to try as many Khao soi here during our Chiang Mai stay so after trying out the nearby place, we decided to eat another bowl of Khao soi here too! Food/price: just got 1 beef Khao soi (50 thb). Very creamy. Not too much soup and not that spicy. Flavor is mild and not too strong which some people may like. It’s a decent bowl of Khao soi but not necessarily my go to place. As always, put in the onion, lime, and pickled veggies that comes on the side for better flavoring.

Environment/ambiance: this place wasn’t too busy when we went around 1 Pm. Still available seats with two other parties eating there as well. Waitor took our order at our table. We were provided with a menu which is nice. The guy was very friendly and nice, compared to the other place down the street.

Location: taking grab taxi is fine around here but walking around this area is tough because road is somewhat narrow with incoming cars and traffic both directions of the road. No...

Solid menu and execution, but overrun by tourists. I would actually rate this place three and a half stars, but I'm rounding up. I've also come to the conclusion that Chiang Mai locals actually don't eat khao soi that often - it's just a famous local dish of which everybody claims to have a best/original/unique version. To be brutally honest, it's just a tamed down version of laksa and usually not worth it. However, this restaurant serves many other things as well, which is why it gets a good rating. These things are not on any English language menu as far as I could tell, but they are on the wall menus in Thai and some are viewable in pots as you walk into the restaurant. These include shrimp patties, vegetable and noodle dishes, stewed meats, and other interesting things. If you are not visiting with a Thai, I suggest looking at what others are ordering or flipping through photos on the FB or Maps page for the restaurant ...

like this place a lot; in english it is known as khao soi lamduan faham (careful there is another one, almost same name, that one number 2, on the bypass highway); this one has been there forever, as testimonied by the owner, all the reviews, and the place itself; looks like a really clean 1950s joint; the food , the khao soi is wonderful, get the pork ribs version, have beer; this isnt a place that has a broad menu but what they serve they do very very well; the interior is chinese thai, the food is thai; parking is dear, as it is in this whole area; prices are cheap for what you get; beer available; the old guy owner was an amiable chatter; dont confuse this place with the khao soi place across the street , sammerjan, this one is Far better; the bad one is riversideish , the good one across that dangerous street to the east; i could go...

TRADITIONAL, AUTHENTIC, NORTHEN TASTE 🥣 what a contrast - a generation-old traditional Khao Soi noodle shop, right in front of the chic and exclusive X2 Resort ;-) yes, the Khao Soi and other traditional northern dishes were well prepared, very tasty 👍 I had enough Kao Soi everyday on the trip, so I tried other lighter noodle with chicken, as good ! they also have other northern dishes, worth to try ! it is a small restaurant with limited tables (and limited kitchen throughput as well), lets avoid coming here in the peak hour. parking in front of the shop, will get full very soon ! I think this noodle shop is very popular on social media, almost every tourist (local and overseas) knows ! lets come and support the local community ! #Khao Soi
