We are family with 3 children. Our first 2 hours after we checked in were not delighted with this hotel because of 1. They told us that breakfast tomorrow morning would be served as ala carte menu, not buffet. 2. And We had to change the rooms 2 times. The first room when we opened so smelly. Like unhabitant for some time. The second room was drainage problem made the bathtub flooded. However, they suggested to change the third room which was upgraded for our 2 nights stay. We almost gave up and call the OTA,that we booked from, ask for refund. It turns out everything seems right and comfort for my family since they gave us solutions. They offer us breakfast buffett at another pingnakorn hotel (same group) and it was delicious Thai breakfast. I can feel their Southeast Asian hospitality from they picked us until they dropped us back to hotel. They even helped us called car rental for our private use. I really appreciated to General Manager, Snooker, and all other staffs especially Toy, that made our 2 night stay memorable. You guys know how to fix the problems. The Ending part was One happy family got good night rest and full tummy in Chiang Mai for 3 days and 2 nights. I wish the best of luck ahead to Management of Pinangkorn. Hotel business is all about hospitality and South East Asian people are very good at it. More human interactions and communicate it with sincere and happy gesture from the staffs will make one by one guest will happy to stay in your hotel.

We started off in a room that smelt a bit musty, so we were changed to a different room the next day. The staff were very helpful, but the hotel was full so they couldn't help us the first night. We found the tea urn in the room wasn't really boiling water properly, so they changed that to a kettle that worked for us. Although there were tea making facilities in the room, there were hardly any tea bags or coffee sachets. The breakfast had a good selection of Asian food, and an egg station to cook things freshly for guests. There were also croissants and fruit avaliable, and "toaster" bread with various jams and peanut butter. I was a bit disappointed there was no black tea avaliable, just peppermint, peach, or camomile teas. The pool was small but really beautifully situated, in lovely grounds. The were lounger beds around the pool, and lounge areas set up in the gardens. The beautiful hotel building looks like a film set for a " Merchant Ivory" film, I felt we should all be wandering around in lace Victorian dresses! The hotel is set by the riverside, a little way out of town, and it was a welcome relief to get away from the smog of the city centre and to the fresher air at the hotel. The staff were lovely. A good place for romantic couples retreats.

We arrived around 20.00 and checked in about 5 minutes. My experience at the hotel was exceptional. The staff, from the front desk to the F&B team and housekeeping, were all incredibly friendly and attentive. The breakfast area is appropriately sized for the hotel and offers both indoor seating and a picturesque outdoor option near the swimming pool, overlooking the river-a truly stunning view. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the hotel's management for their generous complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite with a terrace. The suite was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed. It featured two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a walk-in shower and a bathtub), and comfortable beds. The views from the room were delightful. As a 4-star property, the hotel offers excellent value for money. While the swimming pool is slightly smaller than expected, we didn't have the chance to use it during our stay. Not to mention as well the hotel stands in a great location. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its fantastic amenities, great service, and outstanding value.

We stayed here for 8 nights in January/February. The positives. Our first room (upgraded by us to a triple deluxe), was old and shabby. We asked to be moved and this was done with no fuss to a better room. I asked for chairs and table for our balcony, which surprised the staff, but they provided this promptly. We were later upgraded to a suite for no extra charge, as we had an extra guest,The room was cleaned every day, with fresh bedsheets and towels. Bathroom provisions included shampoo and shower gel. Also the usual hand soap, cotton buds and shower cup. There is a lot of plastic being used in Thailand generally, with very little nod to the environment. We felt that the hotel was a little worn-down and shabby, a bit old-fashioned, but the main areas of the hotel were clean. The pool had 6 loungers and was clean, although unheated and very cold. The staff were pleasant, one male member of staff was very kind and communicative during our stay. We needed a cab anytime we wanted to go out as the hotel has very few passing tuktuks or red trucks. Certainly not walkable as the roads don;t lend themselves to walking safely. Grab taxis came promptly when ordered, so not a big problem. Tuktuks easy to get back to hotel from town. There is a nice restaurant (Riverfront) walkable to along the back of the hotel. Now the negatives. I am a fussy sun lover so the fact that the sunbeds round the pool are pretty much always in the shade wasn't great for me. Although there was huge expanse of lawn, there were only 2 loungers which couldn't be moved. I would provide more sun-loungers for the winter sun-deprived visitors. Although the hotel advertises a bar, there wasn't one, although you could ask for drinks. There wasn't a bar or lounge area to sit at. Breakfast will provoke a mixed response. It was Asian based with some Western food also. Fresh omelettes/eggs/pancakes made to order. The main issue was as previous reviewers have mentioned that the food in the bain-maries was cold unless you came down to breakfast early. There were plenty of fresh salads, but limited fresh fruit offered. Coffee and tea was available in small cups at a time, but more if you wished. In all, we liked the hotel, especially for the rate we paid,, but would give it 3/5 stars, definitely not 4 because of the above issues and somewhat misleading information on...

Extraordinarily beautiful hotel, very expensively done up , great riverside location , great breakfast assisted by the best breakfast staff I have seen in a hotel, great food , super super (yes really ) beds and good room furnishings, easy access for disabled etc...all were the mostly unanimous opinion of my group of 25 but we can't give it 5* for the following reasons (so check with the hotel if they have improved):

  1. NO HOT WATER in all of the rooms we had. No apologies from management but we got a derisory discount as we were paying the bill! They could have offered our group to move to the other building which had hot water as we complained the day before group arrivals as we checked in earlier . Bad management
  2. Extremely noisy because of stone floors in rooms and corridors which produce echoes and can drive you nuts... This can be immediately improved by carpet runners in the corridors and a few area rugs in the bedrooms.
  3. The room cleaning staff yak yak in very loud voices waking everybody up very early in the morning. Bad management
  4. A mixed bag at the front desk. Most were fabulously charming and helpful but one was surly, uninterested and sullen to the point of almost being rude. Shame.
  5. No furniture at all on the lovely big patio outside our room

All of that said....it's still a great hotel. Five * if they can get a grip and we shall be...
