We stayed here for 8 nights in January/February. The positives. Our first room (upgraded by us to a triple deluxe), was old and shabby. We asked to be moved and this was done with no fuss to a better room. I asked for chairs and table for our balcony, which surprised the staff, but they provided this promptly. We were later upgraded to a suite for no extra charge, as we had an extra guest,The room was cleaned every day, with fresh bedsheets and towels. Bathroom provisions included shampoo and shower gel. Also the usual hand soap, cotton buds and shower cup. There is a lot of plastic being used in Thailand generally, with very little nod to the environment. We felt that the hotel was a little worn-down and shabby, a bit old-fashioned, but the main areas of the hotel were clean. The pool had 6 loungers and was clean, although unheated and very cold. The staff were pleasant, one male member of staff was very kind and communicative during our stay. We needed a cab anytime we wanted to go out as the hotel has very few passing tuktuks or red trucks. Certainly not walkable as the roads don;t lend themselves to walking safely. Grab taxis came promptly when ordered, so not a big problem. Tuktuks easy to get back to hotel from town. There is a nice restaurant (Riverfront) walkable to along the back of the hotel. Now the negatives. I am a fussy sun lover so the fact that the sunbeds round the pool are pretty much always in the shade wasn't great for me. Although there was huge expanse of lawn, there were only 2 loungers which couldn't be moved. I would provide more sun-loungers for the winter sun-deprived visitors. Although the hotel advertises a bar, there wasn't one, although you could ask for drinks. There wasn't a bar or lounge area to sit at. Breakfast will provoke a mixed response. It was Asian based with some Western food also. Fresh omelettes/eggs/pancakes made to order. The main issue was as previous reviewers have mentioned that the food in the bain-maries was cold unless you came down to breakfast early. There were plenty of fresh salads, but limited fresh fruit offered. Coffee and tea was available in small cups at a time, but more if you wished. In all, we liked the hotel, especially for the rate we paid,, but would give it 3/5 stars, definitely not 4 because of the above issues and somewhat misleading information on...
Read moreWe are family with 3 children. Our first 2 hours after we checked in were not delighted with this hotel because of They told us that breakfast tomorrow morning would be served as ala carte menu, not buffet. And We had to change the rooms 2 times. The first room when we opened so smelly. Like unhabitant for some time. The second room was drainage problem made the bathtub flooded.
However, they suggested to change the third room which was upgraded for our 2 nights stay. We almost gave up and call the OTA,that we booked from, ask for refund. It turns out everything seems right and comfort for my family since they gave us solutions. They offer us breakfast buffett at another pingnakorn hotel (same group) and it was delicious Thai breakfast. I can feel their Southeast Asian hospitality from they picked us until they dropped us back to hotel. They even helped us called car rental for our private use.
I really appreciated to General Manager, Snooker, and all other staffs especially Toy, that made our 2 night stay memorable. You guys know how to fix the problems. The Ending part was One happy family got good night rest and full tummy in Chiang Mai for 3 days and 2 nights.
I wish the best of luck ahead to Management of Pinangkorn. Hotel business is all about hospitality and South East Asian people are very good at it. More human interactions and communicate it with sincere and happy gesture from the staffs will make one by one guest will happy to stay...
