A hidden gem at the banks of the Ping River.
Monsoon Tea Wat Ket has recently moved to a beautiful new location right by the Ping River, and what a wonderful place it is. I work for our non-profit organisation Philanthropy Connections Foundation, and although we have our own office, I choose to work here on weekends. The warm hospitality of the owner and staff, the peaceful setting, and the relaxed, homely atmosphere make this my perfect ‘office away from the office’.
The forest-friendly tea they serve, grown in harmony with the forest, is honestly some of the best tea you’ll find anywhere, and it comes with a wonderful story.
Monsoon Tea, and especially the founder and tea master Kenneth Rimdahl, partnered with us years ago. They support our work not just through generous donations (20% of their Communitea blend goes to our work), but also with their ongoing hospitality, their lovely team who always welcome us with a smile, and their great service.
I’m grateful for their support and always happy to recommend Monsoon Tea. If you’re looking for a very relaxed place to sit for a while, maybe get some work done, definitely try their tea and food. You’ll find me there...
Read moreThis is THE tea place in Chiang Mai, with a fantastic selection of teas (which you can see from the menu photos that I’ve included here). The interior decor is rustic with wood, rattan and suitably befitting a tea house in cultural Chiang Mai.
Monsoon Tea sells their own brand of teas and this is their cafe, and within you will find photos of their tea plantations and pickings from further up north in Chiang Rai and other surrounding regions. (I have not included those photos because you really ought to come here and see it for yourself!). Certain things are based experienced in person.
The place is airconditioned inside and also has an outside seating area. Their entire tea selection is available for personal order as well as for retailers and restaurants. Good to consider if anyone is interested in retailing their brand of teas.
Enjoyable visit with a soothing relaxing atmosphere. There’s light music reminiscent of the kind you find inside a spa.

Read moreI went to a tea tasting and blending hosted by Monsoon Tea and had a fantastic time. The teahouse is set in a truly beautiful location along the Ping River. The atmosphere was beautiful and calming, and the staff were all incredibly caring. Teddy, the host, was thorough and knowledgeable, guiding me through tastings of many teas before leading a fun, hands-on blending session. I loved being able to take home a generous amount of my own custom blend. The class also included a large, delicious lunch with savory tea-based dishes. Afterwards, I was able to work from the tranquil space and get quite a lot done. Highly recommended for anyone who loves tea, food, or unique...
