I had eagerly anticipated my visit to Khaomao Khaofang restaurant, drawn by glowing reviews all the way from Canada. The anticipation was palpable as I imagined myself basking in the scenic beauty that surrounded this renowned establishment. However, the reality of my experience left me profoundly disappointed and disheartened.

Upon arrival, the picturesque ambiance did not disappoint. The tranquil water backdrops set against lush greenery painted a mesmerizing scene, promising a dining experience like no other. Yet, the charm of the surroundings was overshadowed by the stark lack of empathy displayed by the staff.

With hopeful anticipation, I politely requested a table near the water, longing to immerse myself fully in the serene views. Regrettably, the response from the staff was anything but accommodating. Their smirks and condescending demeanor were difficult to ignore, casting a shadow over what should have been a delightful encounter.

Despite the abundance of available tables nestled beside the water, the staff curtly insisted that all such spots were reserved. The discrepancy between their claims and the reality before my eyes was both perplexing and disheartening. It seemed as though my solitary presence did not warrant the attention or consideration afforded to larger parties.

The sense of isolation and neglect that accompanied their dismissive attitude was profoundly disheartening. It became painfully evident that my individual patronage held little significance in their eyes, overshadowed by the pursuit of larger group bookings.

As I reluctantly departed the premises, my heart heavy with disappointment, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of sadness. The missed opportunity to savor the serene views and indulge in culinary delights was a bitter pill to swallow, leaving behind a lingering sense of disillusionment.

In the end, while the beauty of Khaomao Khaofang restaurant may be undeniable, it is eclipsed by the regrettable lack of empathy and understanding displayed by its staff. It is my sincere hope that they recognize the importance of every guest's experience, regardless of party size, and strive to foster a more inclusive and welcoming environment...

They charge for ice! How greedy can you be? Our family had lunch at Khaomao-Khaofang today at the recommendations of some friends and here was our experience. 1.When we arrived there was no staff to welcome customers. Not a good first impression for a restaurant like this. 2.The staff was very lazy and poorly trained and after finally taking our order we hardly ever saw anyone to help. We had to go over where the water bottles are located to get our glasses filled. 3.Always check your bills before paying as we caught the staff using our bottles of water for other tables and then trying to charge us for them. Solution: Manager: Place the bottles of water on the table where the customers can see them instead of on a small table away from the customer where staff can take the bottles without the customer knowing. This causes something that is lacking at this restaurant, accountability 4.The food portions were on the small size and we even caught the staff cheating by giving less food than advertised on one dish. We informed the staff, when we saw them to correct it. Note: This should not happen at a restaurant like this. We ordered a green tea with milk and found 60% ice which is form of cheating in the restaurant business. 5.How do they clean tables in a fine restaurant like this? They bring out a large white plastic trash can and place everything in it and then carry it away. Is this a third world concept? Solution: For hygiene purposes and for the sake of appearance, use a cart with basins where the tables can be professionally cleared and cleaned.

Do not be misled by the pictures that this is a five star restaurant because it is not. The surrounding is nice and beautiful but the food, service and management are sub pare at best. Anyone who charges for ice is cheap and greedy resulting in our observations an experience.

We just moved to Chiang Mai and are unlikely to return to this restaurant or recommend it unless the manager...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolutely Enchanting Jungle Escape in the Heart of Chiang Mai!

Wow! Where do I even begin? Khaomao-Khaofang Imaginary Jungle isn't just a restaurant; it's a truly immersive and magical experience. From the very moment I stepped through the entrance, I was completely transported away from the city anxiety and into the most incredibly realised 'Imaginary Jungle'. It's an absolute feast for my senses and a genuine urban oasis.

Honestly I was blown away and I would take anyone here if they visited Chiang Mai.

For a sneak peak at what the restaurant looks like, go to YouTube and search for "hunter talks imaginary jungle".

The attention to detail in creating the atmosphere is simply phenomenal. I'm talking towering trees, lush greenery cascading down walls, the soothing sounds of waterfalls, meandering streams complete with fish!, and atmospheric mist that adds a touch of mystery. I felt like I'd stumbled upon a hidden rainforest temple. Every corner I turned offered a new, picturesque view - it's a vloggers/photographers dream! I spent ages just wandering around soaking it all in before even looking at the menu.

The service throughout was equally faultless. The staff were incredibly welcoming from the moment I arrived, attentive without ever being intrusive, and genuinely friendly and helpful.

Considering the unique environment, the outstanding quality of the food, and the top-notch service, I felt Khaomao-Khaofang Imaginary Jungle offered excellent value for money. It's the perfect setting for a special occasion, a romantic dinner, or simply if you want to treat yourself to a meal that feels like an event. It’s more than just dining; it's an unforgettable experience.

I honestly couldn't find a single fault. Khaomao-Khaofang Imaginary Jungle is a must-visit destination if you're in Chiang Mai. Highly, highly recommended. A definite five stars from me – I'm already planning my...

Nothing to complain.... Dining in the jungle or amazing rainforest I can elaborate as. Normally you might easily get mosquito bite at this kind of ambiance... Just because it's surrounded by too many trees or it's exactly in the jungle... But No. This is 1 st thing that I'm concerned especially when I brings my vips clients. It means this restaurant are very clean, been taking care in great hygiene, and with proper arrangements. Don't talk about their Michelin star rating that hold few years in a row.... The food served are extraordinary and definitely another standard. The taste, the decor, the portions, and the choice of the ingredients are definitely up to their standard. As I'm Muslim who bring my non Muslim clients here, they do served me with suitable meals. It means the choices here are absolutely verity. It's so much to talking about the food that they do have here... Bit the main attraction itself... The ambiance and location are another important details for me to make sure my clients are happy to enjoy your food here. Sexy toilet which you may wish to stay here... Why... Its clean, harmoniously blend with the trees around and quiet. I personally love this place and would absolutely recommend this restaurant not only for those wish to enjoy Thai local food in high standard or quality but already those to plan their garden or jungle weeding, birthday theme party, special occasion or gathering also groups. Will definitely come for more very soon

One of the best looking places to dine in Chiang Mai. Lots of beautiful, healthy plants all over. The stunning small lake with mirror effect looks amazing right before sunset. Food is alright, drinks tastes pretty great except for some being a little too sweet. Even the toilet is really aesthetic. Now, onto the bad side: 1. We called the morning of the day to book a table for dinner, but we were told that bookings aren't allowed. So, we walked in 10 mins before opening, and before there was even anyone, we were told all tables were booked. When I take a peek of the list of people who have booked, 99% of them are locals or tour groups. The front desk person couldn't explain why he couldn't give us a table even for walk-in...Eventually, 5-8 mins after opening, we got assigned to the table. 2. Unfriendly staff. So far all the places I have dined in Chiang Mai, all the staff were pleasant or if not, not negative. However, from the moment of entering and exiting the place, all of the staff looks unhappy and not welcoming at all. Kinda spoils the mood. 3. Mosquitoes. FYI: This place is VERY touristy unfortunately. We got lucky to have a table at a pretty good spot, but bear in mind that massive tour groups will be taking the best spots.

Khaomao-Khaofang really impressed me immensely. First off, the ambiance is really amazing. The trees, plants and flowers that covers of the restaurant top to bottom makes it look like a rainforest. It has a cool temperature making it super comfortable especially at night (though you may want to wear a jacket in case you get cold easily. Food was absolutely incredible. We ordered the German Pork Knuckle, Corn Fritters and a salad as well as crab fried rice. We went on Valentine’s day and the wait for the food was maybe half an hour (maybe longer?). However the food was worth it. The pork knuckle was extremely crispy while tender on the inside. Paired with the variety of sauces they give it’s a match made in heaven. The corn fritters were pretty good and the salad was tasty too. The crab fried rice was also really good but nothing too special. We waited probably 15 minutes before a table was available at around 8:30pm and they let you order first before you get to your table. It was quite busy though so do reserve a table if you can by calling them. Overall I don’t have much to complain about except the slightly slow time to get food out. Highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food but the entire setting.
