I need to explain my low rating in detail. I normally like to support local businesses, but I had a sub-par experience at the Lady and The Fox. My family has been here before and recommended it. We went this morning with high expectations. Upon arriving, the interior is nicely decorated and has the feeling of a coffee shop. There were a few people with laptops set up at their tables (so maybe this could be a problem when it’s busy?). The menu had a lot of good choices, and we put our order in. The drinks came out quickly, and the smoothies were tasty. And we waited for our food….. and we waited….and waited…. There seemed to be quite a few GRAB orders being sent out, so we patiently waited…. And waited. Finally after more than 30 minutes the manager came to us and said they were out of fries and would we like salad as a side instead? So basically they had run out of all potato sides? We had seen sliced potatoes getting served to others (who had arrived after us!) while we were waiting. This would have been a suitable substitute for the fries, but it was not offered. However we also realized if they were just telling us they were out of fries they had also probably just started our order. So we decided to pay for the drinks and leave. The staff was gracious and offered us our drinks on the house. A nice touch that will get them another chance at another time, but for this visit I have to give them a zero on food (since we didn’t receive our order) and a one star for service… why didn’t they tell us about the substitution when we ordered or at least soon after our order? And why just let us sit for over 30 minutes without an update about the status of our food order? But these problems can be easily fixed. We will try again another time and re-rate the experience then. This place gets generally very high reviews, so hopefully I can move them to a higher rating next time.

Lady and the Fox, a charming restaurant and bakery in Chiang Mai, Thailand, stands as a delightful fusion of Thai hospitality and American culinary expertise. The owner, a Thai woman with an impressive background in the American food industry, brings a unique flair to this establishment, creating an experience that's both culturally rich and gastronomically satisfying. As you step into Lady and the Fox, you're greeted by an ambiance that beautifully marries Thai aesthetics with a touch of Californian charm. This fusion is not just in the decor but also in the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel right at home. Whether it's a casual meal or a special celebration, the setting is just perfect. The menu reflects the owner's diverse culinary journey, featuring a variety of dishes that showcase the quality and freshness synonymous with Californian cuisine, alongside the bold and intricate flavors of Thai cooking. This blend results in a dining experience that's both comforting and exciting, offering something new for even the most seasoned palate. The highlight of Lady and the Fox, however, is undoubtedly the bakery section, especially the croissants. These are a nod to the owner's expertise and attention to detail. The croissants here are a revelation - flaky, buttery, and baked to perfection, representing the pinnacle of baking excellence. In essence, Lady and the Fox is more than just a restaurant and bakery. It's a culinary journey that celebrates the fusion of two diverse cultures, brought to life by the passion and experience of its remarkable owner. For anyone in Chiang Mai or visiting the area, this establishment is a must-visit destination for an unforgettable dining experience.

We had such a lovely experience at Lady and The Fox, a charming all-day brunch spot in Chiang Mai. The food, coffee, and cozy vibe made it an instant favorite. ☕️ We started with their Tiramisu Pancakes, which were as dreamy as they sound—soft, fluffy layers with mascarpone cream and a dusting of cocoa, just like the dessert, but in pancake form. Sweet, light, and unforgettable! Next up, the Salmon Bagel – perfectly toasted with generous slices of smoked salmon, fresh greens, and a smooth cream cheese spread. A classic done right, full of flavor and freshness. The Fish Tacos were another highlight—crispy, well-seasoned fish wrapped in soft tortillas with melted cheese, crunchy slaw, and zesty sauce. Every bite was balanced and full of texture. We also tried the Pork Ribs, which were fall-off-the-bone tender and glazed with a rich, savory sauce. Comfort food at its best. And if you’re in the mood for something hearty, their Philly Cheesesteak is a must—juicy beef, melty cheese, and all the right flavors packed into a soft roll. Of course, the coffee did not disappoint. I had a White Mocha Latte, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had—creamy, not too sweet, and beautifully smooth. Their Americano was also excellent—rich, bold, and perfect with dessert. Don’t skip their pastries and sweets! The croissants and chocolate treats looked divine, and it’s the perfect place to slow down with a coffee and something sweet. Whether you’re craving brunch, comfort food, or just a really good cup of coffee, Lady & The Fox delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend making this spot part of your Chiang Mai itinerary!
