Last night I experienced the most horrendous “fine dining” experience and customer service. Everyone had ordered there food and the wait started. Around an hour into our wait, we asked them where our food was and they replied with “we are plating your food right now”. After that, we waited for another hour and then 5 of the 11 dishes arrived. At this point we were hoping that the rest of the dishes would arrive soon. Our hopes and dreams were crushed when we questioned the amateur waiters about where our food was. They realized they had given the rest of our dishes to a different table. This is unacceptable service. We were extremely disappointed. The steaks that was served to us were cooked inconsistently and the 2500 baht Kobe beef was blue raw plus it still had silver skin on it. My experience so far was bread and bottled water. We asked the waiter where the manager was and he replied with “she’s on vacation”. Then we went to the front table and asked for the manager. A woman walks us to up and claimed that she is the manager. We were puzzled. The waiter had said that the woman who claims to be the manager is actually the assistant. We did not know who to trust. We confronted the “manager” who blamed it all on the waiters whose excuses were treat they had been working all day. This excuse is not even close to plausible as it is not our fault they are tired. Overall, I was appalled by the customer service and would want them to improve it for future customers. A Christmas night to...
Read moreThrowback to good old fashioned French dining - set in a lovely house with glass conservatory amidst sprawling gardens. Live music with pianist & vocalist a bit of an 80s throwback - definitely a dress-up date night venue! We enjoyed the fabulous full service starting with a generous sliver of home-made amuse-bouche of foie gras served on toast accompanied by an ingenious walnut fruit macaron, beautiful smooth house red Cabernet Syrah, starters of mussels in a pot so juicy and tender swimming in herby cream soup mopped up with bread. Hubby’s poached egg came a little overcooked and the chef himself was gracious enough to bring out a fresh serving. Main course arrived with the obligatory silver lids lifted off in unison by two waiters to reveal duck confit, mashed potatoes and spinach in cherry sauce cooked to crispy perfection (melt in the mouth meat!) and fresh pasta lobster ravioli drenched in delicious bisquey sauce. To end our gluttony, we enjoyed the caramelised apple tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream and they gifted us a light, fluffy strawberry bavarois cake! A lovely evening and delicious food with great service in a romantic, old...
Read moreUnbelievably this restaurant took 2 whole hours to cook a plate of steak, not to mention it was 2.5k baht, it was the second most expensive dish in the entire menu. As the steak took forever, the components on that plate such as the sauce never came until we asked specifically for it. The dishes such as the fish and other plates of steak never came to our table as well. “We are plating” was what one of the waiters said after we ordered, an hour later they arrived with half of what we had ordered, still with the sauce missing. I think the only thing this restaurant can do properly is serve the water and their bread, it was what we were actually enjoying. I really hope they will do better for the other customers that choose to come eat here...
