Phuket Seafood — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

I see a lot of farang complain a lot about price, but the price aren't much different from Phuket or Pattaya. Given the added cost of logistic, I personally think the price is fair. This is my go-to place when I crave for top tier seafood in Chaing Mai. The food is fresh (alive!) and delicious. Occasionally, we get rare treats like rare seasnails and mantis shrimp (cheap tourist stay away, it cost over $120 per kg).

Having said that food are delicious and price point is fair for what it is. The restaurant isn't perfect. The atmosphere and service can improve. On my experience service can be a coin-toss. Depends on who serves you.

Very fresh seafood. The stir fried garlic prawns were very good. You can savour the freshness and goodness of the prawns once you bite into it. The Hong Kong style steamed marble goby with soy sauce was a hit. Extremely fresh, we literally "deboned" the fish including the head 😋. Next was the giant grilled River Prawn.... Oh mine mine, mind boggling delicious. The roe and the goodness of the river prawns were just amazing.

The stir fried vegetables, (we had spinach and bean sprouts) were pretty standard. Egg fried rice was pretty standard too. The only disappointment was the curry crab, it lacks the umami of curry.

Nice live solo vocalist performing soothing Thai songs make the evening even more enjoyable.

With the accompanying Sparking Cava and a nice French Cote Du Rhone complete a wonderful dining experience at the Phuket...

I wouldn't recommend this place. At first we thought this place was more local and would not over charge. Food turned out to be soso. They are definitely charging a tourist price without the service for tourists. The servers' English was limited. The owner? kept recommending expensive seafood and we ended up ordering too much for two people. We wanted a Tom yum soup and they recommended fish Tom yum. They actually put a whole fresh fish in it and charged us 650 baht for it. On their menu a seafood Tom yum is only 199 baht. We paid 1800 for 2 people.
