A Hidden Gem for Coffee Lovers and Remote Workers By Henry
I was pleasantly surprised by this local coffee shop. I've driven past it many times, noticing the sign but never really felt compelled to stop by. Recently, I was invited by friends to check it out, and I'm glad I did.
Located on the ground floor of a hotel, this industrial and minimalist coffee shop has a unique vibe. Its spacious layout makes it a great option for a quiet place to work or study, almost doubling as a coworking space. The atmosphere is relaxing, with minimal distractions, which is perfect if you're looking to focus on a project or get some work done.
The location is also a big plus—just a few meters from the train station. It’s the perfect spot to grab a coffee while waiting for your train, or simply to sit and relax. My friends were particularly impressed with the ambiance, and I can see why. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit for a great cup of coffee and a quiet escape from the...
Read moreAn expensive coffee place with their own roasting facilities and bean selection. I would say that some baristas are experienced and some are not. The first Americano I got was over-extracted (with noticeable bitter flavors and after taste). After pointing this out, I got offered a second coffee (free), which was considerably more balanced with more notes of acidity and much less bitterness.
Overall, although the location is high tech and well designed with an open interior, I found the minimalistic concrete style lacking in originality and welcoming feeling. After visiting this place twice, I found nothing interesting that makes it stand out from a myriad of other coffee locations in Chiang Mai. As a side note, one thing that is unique is their own roasts, but after the first over-extracted shot, I wasn't tempted to try their filters which cost 150+ baht.
Also, the pastries on offer didn't look that great to me. However, I have not tried any so I can't speak...
Read moreWe found this coffee shop next to the train station in chiang mai. really nice and spacious space with plenty of parking (a rare treat in chiang mai). the drinks are very good. a bit pricey but you pay for nice environment and parking. the space is industrial looking. it reminds me of Intelligentsia Coffee in pasadena ca when it first opened years ago. of course the Baristro at Train Station is much bigger and with a much larger selection. I had a Baristro Mocha which is very good. perfect blend of mocha and coffee. My wife had the vanilla latte. it was ok but lack the vanilla taste. we also had a burnt cheesecake and a brownie. the burnt cheesecake was only ok. my wife thought she had better at another place we went last weekend. the brownie was very good. more of a fudge cake than a brownie but i really like it. i am a big chocolate fan so it hits the spot. this is Not the overly sweet chocolate. would...
