La Napoletana Bangtao — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

After traveling for a couple of months, my husband was craving a woodfired pizza. We searched online and came across La Napoletana Bangtao, which had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and given the choice of sitting inside the air-conditioned restaurant or outside. We opted for outdoor seating and were promptly handed menus. After browsing, we ordered two Heinekens, a spicy meat pizza, and a penne Bolognese.

The food arrived quickly and was served piping hot. The penne Bolognese had perfectly cooked pasta with a rich, flavorful sauce—though an extra spoonful of Bolognese would have made it even better.

The pizza was excellent, with a light and fluffy dough cooked to perfection. However, I found the salami and spicy sausage to be a bit mild in flavor. That said, we still enjoyed every bite and finished everything!

The pizza prices were on the higher side, but given the use of imported ingredients and the location, it was understandable.

We were the second guests at this brand new restaurant. It was excellent. The tables are well set, chairs very comfortable, atmosphere super. Lovely menu - it’s Italian Fine Dining at its best. Generous portions, beautifully presented. Khun Da looked after us superbly with the usual Thai charm. My only complaint is that the portions were so filling we didn’t have room for dessert. Can’t wait to go again. Really wonderful Italian food.

We went again tonight, it was quiet as Loy Kratong festival in full swing. I’ve nothing really to add. Owner Davide takes a personal interest in his clients, I had probably the best lasagna ever, atmosphere is serene and peaceful, service attentive and welcoming, my wife had mussels which were excellent. What a delightful dining experience! La Napoletana in Bangtao truly impressed us with its authentic and flavorful dishes — the pasta was perfectly cooked, the salads fresh and vibrant, and every bite felt like a little trip to Italy.

But what made the evening even more special was the outstanding service. We were looked after by a kind and professional Burmese waiter who made us feel so welcome and cared for. He was warm, attentive, and had such a gentle, respectful manner — a true gem, even though we sadly didn’t catch his name.
