Painfully below average food.
Who ever set up this bar has great scope for potential, the ambience and feel are really attractive with a feel for beers till late and drinking cocktails listening to soft waves crash is bliss.
We went for the food on Sunday night and I was so unimpressed by the portion size and quality of the food. It just didn’t compliment the place. It’s clear here the owner wants to keep people happy with a very safe European offering, it’s a shame because I do think that the palette has changed (modernized) from pie and chips and nachos.
Beautiful beach, bummy dive bar, the smell of coconuts-pie and chips. It feels tough to Even say.
IMO the owner should go one direction with the food. I know Thai food is a tough sell to tourists but really there is no experience otherwise making what is a great location completely forgettable. I hope he gets rid of the picture menu and try’s out a few new things, I believe it’s an amazing spot still trying to Work out what it really wants to offer.
If the owner is reading this. I suggest a few fans placed around the larger table areas and bug spray on every table. We left hungry because of being bitten and I really wanted to try the desserts.
Beautiful place. Just eat before you go. Looks great for larger tables. The atmosphere and low lighting will really help you...
Read moreWe really enjoyed the relaxed vibes here, and taste of all the food was delicious. I did order the corned beef sandwich though, and the meat was kind of tough. And the beef stew had such gigantic pieces of beef in it that it left me trying to cut the meat with my soup spoon.
They have an impressive selection of beer, wine, cider, cocktails, etc. at a reasonable price (220 baht for my larger imported beer).
Something to keep in mind is that they don't accept card payments, and there aren't any ATMs around here, so you'll need to plan cash ahead of time.
Also, it's a bit out of the way since there aren't any roads directly connecting this small fishing area to the main roads. But that probably adds to the calm vibes.
Anyway, we will definitely be back again sometime.
Update: We came back and the restaurant literally doesn't exist anymore. Torn down, and the only seating that was left available was in the sun... Because there...
Read moreI have tried for 6 weeks to locate this cafe-bar on the sand, on the beach, of Soi 8, north Jomtien Beach. Finally did today! This is the kind of "laid back" beach bar that Cheryle Crow sings of in her song about getting a morning beer buzz on Santa Monica Beach (Los Angeles, California). Text limits the applause I can give it. Lots of sweet eye candy, cold Leo beer, Chicano munchies, and live sea shell creatures in the morning water runoff, all within audible distance of their vibrant classic rock HiFi speaker system. And only 20 minutes from the overrun beaches of Jomtien, Dongtan, and Pattaya. We drove the car, but a motorcy would have been better to navigate to parking. A charming Khun Mon was managing, and Khun Ton, and another, were serving. We stayed for 5 hours, until an afternoon beer buzz informed us to go. --Don't tell...
