Paid THB1,800 for a 1 day windsurfing course (comprising of 2 hour lesson with instructor, then 4 hour free play/individual practice time). After the first hour I wasn't feeling great so called it a day, asked if I could come back another day and take a board out, on my own, for the 4 hours practice I'd paid for that was included (I wasn't concerned about the other 1 hour instruction) but the answer was a definite no. Because I'd booked for that day the hours were only valid on that day only and that was that, 'the manager has said no'. They've loads of boards so I saw no reason why I couldn't come back another day and use one for 4 hours practice that I'd paid for, but no. So effectively a total of 1 hour of instruction cost me THB1,800!! The instructor was fantastic, its the management and their ridiculous policy thats the issue. These guys have a lot of windsurfing equipment, so they probably have what you want. I rented from them several times during a week and they helped me pick the right stuff for my skill level and conditions. The beach is amazingly level, meaning you can be 100 yards from the shore and still able to touch bottom. As my waterstarts were rusty, it was useful to stand on the bottom and get everything set-up, but there are some sharp objects (probably shells), so I recommend wearing shoes. Club Loongchat is a gem of a place in Pattaya. We try to go there every weekend to catch some wind, waves and much needed wind-down time! Pop and his crew really go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed. The team there are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The club has a cosy community feel about it, they’re very caring and always deliver top tier service. We’ve taken windsurfing and surfing lessons there as well as a joy ride on the Hobie Craft.
