A Promising Gem with Room to Grow

At its core, there are only two types of restaurants—those you want to return to and those you don’t. Shoreditch firmly places itself in the former category. While there are certainly areas for refinement, the restaurant exudes an unpretentious and authentic charm, with both food and service showing genuine promise. The menu is concise, focusing on a few well-executed dishes, a choice that speaks to a kitchen confident in its craft.

There is something about Shoreditch that suggests the potential to become a beloved local institution, drawing a loyal following of regulars. The diners here appear to be well-traveled in the culinary landscape, and if the owners remain attuned to guest feedback, they stand to gain invaluable insight that could elevate the experience even further.

The Food

The focaccia is a delightful start—a crisp, golden exterior giving way to a soft, airy center, complemented beautifully by olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The foie gras is indulgent but leans slightly too sweet for my taste.

The Hokkaido scallops are divine—an absolute must-try.

The pasta dishes, however, steal the show. The Aglio e Olio, though visually unassuming, delivers a bold and satisfying punch. One small but brilliant detail: the garlic is sliced impossibly thin, almost translucent—so fine it looks like it was cut with a razor blade, just like in the famous prison scene from Goodfellas. It’s a level of care that does not go unnoticed.

The Cacio e Pepe is a harmonious blend of warm, peppery spice and rich creaminess, courtesy of Parmesan and egg yolks. Both dishes are elevated further by flavorful, perfectly diced bacon, adding just the right amount of depth.

Unfortunately, the ragù was unavailable during my visit, but it has given me a reason to return—I am determined to try it.

The Desserts

The desserts, for the most part, are exceptional. The Panna Cotta and Caramel Custard are flawlessly executed, delivering the silky, indulgent textures one hopes for. The Tiramisù, however, falls short—not an easy dessert to perfect, as the delicate balance of espresso-soaked ladyfingers requires impeccable timing. With time, I have no doubt they will nail it, but for now, I’ll pass.

Looking Ahead

While Shoreditch has mastered the art of a focused menu, at some point, I would love to see them branch out and showcase their take on Italian classics like Osso Buco and Saltimbocca. A restaurant with this level of potential could surely bring something special to these timeless dishes, and I have no doubt their rendition would be well worth trying.

Final Thoughts

Shoreditch is a restaurant with a soul—one that, with continued refinement, could evolve into a true neighborhood favorite. There’s a strong foundation here, and I look forward to seeing how it grows and matures over time. One thing is certain—I...

Charming modern italian cafe, family friendly, and can bring along your furry companion. The restaurant is a 3-story block on the main road with no street parking in front. Signature pasta alone makes it worth a revisit with a larger group.

Restaurant has a minimal, homey feel to the experience. Wooden, white interior with soft painting decorated throughout. Chill and comfortable dining vibes.

Shoreditch's signature pasta dish is a must-have. Fettucini sprinkled on mushroom powder and glazed over with generous amounts of cheese. On the side of this dish is a pork jowl, chimmichuri sauce, which complements well with the miso brown butter. This dish is uniquely perfect and umami, the definition of yummy.

Food turnaround is rather blazing fast since theres limited tables. First dish came out within ten minutes of order.

Parking is in a private soi in Nanglinchi 7, but there is a risk that the factory owners will complain. The restaurant recommends parking across in an...
