Khao Soi Lam Duan Fa Ham Chiang Mai - Nang Linchi Branch — Restaurant in Chong Nonsi Subdistrict

My GF and I visited Chaing Mai last year and LOVED the original Khao Soi Lam Duan, a beautiful white restaurant (built from an old house?). The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great.

The Khao Soi Lam Duan in BKK is disappointing. Very small, no frills, none of the aura of the original. Normally, I would not care, but the Khao Soi did not live up to expectations; they are not executing the recipe correctly, which rendered the Khao Soi lifeless.

The prices were reasonable, but I didn't feel as though I got Value for my $.

9/30/2025 Back in Chiang Mai: Back to Khao Soi Lam Duan! DID NOT disappoint Hot, flavorful food in what appears to be an old mansion. They say they have been here over 80 years! The Original is still the best! 5 Stars for Chiang Mai Khao...

Possibly one of the best places in #bangkok to get the northern curry noodles if you can’t get yourself to the north!

Authentic, mild and thickened curry (chicken, beef) yellow noodles served with lemon, red onions and vinegar cabbage garnishes. The little restaurant also offers other northern favorites such as sweetened pork stew and fried pork over rice served with clear soup.

Desserts to finish off the meals such as coconut pudding and other icy treats are available.

(one star shy of a five star rating is the heavy food aromas that cling onto one’s clothes and hair after eating there, hopefully the restaurant will consider air filters). Must visit, highly recommended!

This place is incredible, and is clearly worth the Michelin ratings it has received. I don't how it's possible that a proper shop (with a door and walls) can serve an awesome bowl of Khao Soi like this, with such a nice ambience, for under B100.
