I am an American living in Thailand. I love Thai food, but sometimes I get homesick; homesick for the food and flavors I grew up on: American food/Western food. I've been to Tapas Thai Restaurant twice, now; once for the Sunday Roast (Lamb and Roast Pork on this occasion, plus bountiful veggies and breads), and this morning for the "Traditional Breakfast." They were both great! Very satisfying!
Breakfast had a very British-Aussie, slant: 2 eggs, 2 "rashers" with a strong smoky bacon flavor, 1 long sausage, tomatoes, baked beans, 2 slices of nice grain toast with butter. Being an American, I couldn't resist adding Hash Browns to the mix! Coffee or Tea was included in the very reasonable price, but I don't much like either, so I passed.
So now I have gone twice and been very pleased and impressed twice. I'm definitely going back!

Read moreWe visited Tapas Thai bar restaurant around 9 PM, hoping for a quick and enjoyable meal. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. After a 30-45 minute wait, which seemed excessive especially for a simple dish like a tomato and cheese salad, our food finally arrived. The quality of the dishes was deeply disappointing. I ordered a burger and found both the taste and texture of the meat to be subpar. The fries were evidently cooked in old oil, affecting their taste negatively. As for the lasagna, it was a nightmare; even a store-bought frozen lasagna would have tasted better. The food was so underwhelming that we left without finishing our meal. Moreover, my wife fell ill during the night, which we suspect was due to the food.

Read moreThe food was good and there is variety. It's a little hot, which was solved with a fan. I would have liked to rate more but it is impossible after what happened and I explain below. I ordered an Ice Cappuccino. She was looking at the bar and the girl who prepared it, when she already had it in the jug, she was putting the spoon in and sucking, tasting. That spoon went into her mouth several times (5 or 6 minimum) and into my Ice cappuccino. The rules of hygiene and respect were blown up. All the food I had eaten made me sick, because I DID NOT know what they could have done. No one can be allowed to suck or put saliva on your food or drink. This violates any health regulations and is unethical. It's a shame that something so barbaric and dirty breaks everyone else's work because the food wasn't bad,...
