45 Thai Time — Restaurant in Karon

Unfortunately, I have to give this Thai restaurant, which looks charming at first glance, a bad rating. We ended up here by chance and thought it looked like a nice, small and local Thai food restaurant. Which may even be true.

We were served immediately and ordered a massaman curry and stir fried mixed vegetables with cashewnuts. For both dishes, we asked if they could be prepared vegan, which was confirmed.

After an unfortunately really long wait (we were the only guests apart from another couple), our food arrived. The vegetables were actually just small mushrooms in a watery sauce and the curry wasn't particularly appealing either. We also had two rice and two soda waters.

When we ended up paying around 700 baht for this sad and poor meal, we were very shocked. Normally we usually pay around 400 baht for food of the same quality, which is also much nicer or better prepared.

We loved this little spot, we came three times. It’s super cozy especially at night with all the lights on, it feels like having a nice meal at someone’s front yard. Found most Thai food in Kata to be quite average and thats eating at 4 different places per day for 4 days so far and this is the only one ive come back to a second time.
