I placed an order via the delivery service 'Food Panda' yesterday evening. I have used food panda on many occasions and have always found the experience pleasant. However yesterday, when my order was placed, the app said my order would arrive in 15-25 minutes. After another 20 minutes it updated to another 25-30 minutes. This is not my reason for the 1 star review though! I phoned Pomodoro directly after a 30 minutes wait to find out what the delay was, I was greeted my a Thai lady who immediately started shouting at me saying they have no customers tonight and its not their fault and for me to call food Panda. I was trying to ask her of my pizza was ready as I would have gone to collect. She shouted something and went to get her 'Boss'. What she said was not appropriate. I could over hear her describing me as an 'It' not 'him' when talking to her boss. I have lived in Phuket 9 years and never heard such bad manners before! The 'Boss' then came on the phone and with no apology or responsibility said for me to call food Panda to find out what is happening. Not the best customer service. I would have cancelled at this point if I had not paid already. After over an hour the Pizza arrived. I'm not one to tell someone how to run their business but in times like this, customer service accounts for a great deal......Don't let that lady answer your phone anymore. She's very rude.
Edit. Now you're lying. I politely asked what was happening. The Thai lady was the one who was rude and not listening to me. Wow, what a thing to say, 'we are not your slaves' . I don't think you should respond to reviews anymore either. I am pretty sure you are a new owner there as this place was up for sale a year or two ago. Your response shows exactly your what your customer service is...
Read moreThe owner had the nerve to charge us for a little extra Parmesan cheese for the linguine carbonara, which incidentally wasn’t very good. Disappointing given what we’d heard about the place.
UPDATE AFTER A RUDE AND MOSTLY INCOMPREHENSIBLE REPLY FROM THE OWNER:
Sir, you obviously lack understanding in the basics of hospitality.
I am aware that a small amount of Parmesan cheese was delivered along with the dodgy carbonara. Wanting to hide the taste of my pasta, I asked for extra Parmesan. I’m not sure how well travelled you are Sir but you’ll find that, around the world, a ridiculously small amount of extra Parmesan is usually given free or charge.
But the salient point here is not the additional few bahts I had to pay for the cheese. The salient point here is that I have now given you one star instead of the original three. Additionally, your restaurant now has a recorded bad reputation. I’m not talking about this Google review, I am talking about the dozen upon dozens of crew members at my airline that overnight in Phuket and that will not patronize your eatery, nor will they recommend it to any of our colleagues. Worse, they’ll talk about it (I certainly will) in our professional web forums.
It will sound Sir something like this: “dear colleagues overnighting in HKT, whatever you do please do not visit Pomodoro restaurant in Kata. They’ll charge you extra for the tiniest bit of extra Parmesan cheese, their carbonara was disgusting and if you dare leave a Google review, the owner of the place (who seem to know nothing about hospitality) will essentially insult you in his reply.”
God help...
Read moreI wouldn’t trust this fairly high google rating if I were you… Ordered my food this 23 April 2023 at 8:21pm. Received it TWO HOURS LATER (this isn’t a joke).
I called the restaurant to see what was up with my order and do you you know what happened ? You guessed it, as always, they blamed it on the food delivery service. But, the food delivery service was able to get to me on time for another order that same night! So the food delivery service wasn’t to blame at all.
2 hours for a pizza and a plate of pasta, you would think they took their sweet time preparing it and that your wait would be rewarded right ? Wrong, unfortunately. The pizza was lukewarm and had a cardboard-like crust. The taste was mid. As for the pasta, they should have tasted like like meat and tomatoes, yet somehow managed to taste like nothing.
Oh, it doesn’t end here, I ordered cutlery with my food. Of course it wasn’t there. Had to ask for cutlery at the hotel lobby….. and finally, you would think that I’m inventing more things to add to the story, but no, the bread they so proudly included with the order was a store-bought stale a$$ sliced bread. Nothing Italian or even remotely eatable.
I will make this short for you: If I were you, craving for good Italian food, I would NOT spend my money in this restaurant.
Now waiting for the owner to blame it on me or the...
