Gorgeous place, across the road from the beach, nice decor, attached to a tiny art gallery. We thought we were in for a very fancy evening. My partner and I walked in hungry and unfortunately left the same. We ordered bruschetta as the starter and the cannelloni and quatro formaggi pasta as mains with two cocktails. The bruschetta was fine, however it came out after my partners cannelloni and I was left sitting there for 5 minutes waiting for my meal to come out. When it finally did arrive it was nothing like the picture- cold, long noodles in a thin beschamel, parmesan in a small ramekin, topped with what looked like grey snot that turned out to be some sort of mozzarella with the texture of old gum on the sidewalk. The cannelloni was stuffed with jellied chicken and was unappetizing in a tastless tomato sauce. We decided against dessert, as the waitstaff hadn't come to check how the meals were even once and we were seriously unhappy with the food. Expensive too, the cannelloni was 330 Bht and the awful 4 cheese pasta was 490 Bht if you can believe, the bruschetta which was fine but nothing to write home about was 200 and the cocktails (which were the high point) were 240- 260 each. A costly lesson in "all that glitters...
Read moreStopped in while we were walking down the street. Overall the waitstaff was very kind and attentive. We were very unimpressed with the food. I ordered a pasta dish that was supposed to have ricotta in it, but had no trace of ricotta. My partner ordered from the breakfast menu. After realizing we were going to be far from full, we ordered a pizza to go. I tasted the pizza and immediately knew I didn't like it. The cheese was barely melted and the overall flavor was not great. My partner took a bite of one piece to taste as well. After explaining to our server, whom I will say was very kind and was in training, he said he would have to talk to the manager. After coming back and telling us we would have to pay for it, he then went and got the manager (whom was SITTING at a table talking the entire evening). The manager then came over, quite angry and told us "NO we would be paying for the pizza, we cannot try and then not pay". She was very aggressive and barely let us speak. I have worked in the service industry for many years and have never experienced this kind of behavior. We were sorely disappointed and left feeling upset that we were YELLED at by the manager. Read moreWe had a fantastic evening at Ciao Pizza and Grill in Phuket, a place that effortlessly combines amazing food, friendly service, and a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Attentive, polite, and genuinely warm, they added to what was already shaping up to be a great night. The freshly made smoothies and drinks were the perfect start, refreshing and packed with flavour.
The food, though, was the real highlight. The wagyu beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the pasta dishes were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and full of rich, authentic flavour. You can really tell the ingredients are fresh and the kitchen takes pride in what they serve.
Adding to the experience was a talented musician playing acoustic guitar and singing a fantastic mix of songs, everything from classics to modern hits. It created the perfect backdrop for a relaxed dinner without ever being too loud or intrusive.
Whether you're after a romantic meal, a family dinner, or just a chilled evening out, Ciao Pizza and Grill is a top spot in Phuket. We’d definitely recommend it and will absolutely return on...
