BAAN SAILOM RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Karon

Restaurant only review. I just wanted some dinner, I explained clearly with photos that I wanted a fillet of salmon not the steak cut with the bones and some fried rice without the slice of lime due to allergies, the lady claimed to know what I said so I sat down to eat so my take away fried rice came out first in a bag to take home. I'm not just being fussy my throat swells and I literally choke. Then my salmon showed up, I called the lady over and explained this isn't what I ordered and she first attempted to shred and remove the bones with my knife and fork like a parent does a child which I didn't appreciate, then she just started screaming that I have to pay anyway, which I did. I got back to my hotel to eat fried rice with a half of a lime on it! I went hungry for a meal that was quite expensive...

This is the worst meal I ever had in Karon. We where a party of four. One of us got cold food and sent it back, the new one was without any sauce and therefore no flavour. I ordered a vegetable stir-fry, I got one with pork. I sent it back immideately and was promised a new one. I got a new one after about 5-10 minutes. I had ate about 1/3 when I started feeling sick. And then we found a small piece of pork still in it, I’m guessing they thought they were clever to just pick it out for me instead of making a new one, but that’s just my personal speculation. Either way I went home sick after my visit. The other two had no other complaints than that it wasn’t especially good. I have to give this restaurant a shout-out for the staff.

The food is great quality and reasonably priced (we ate here 3 times), with a range of fresh seafood options and extensive range of drinks.

But I really enjoyed the fun they had with my kids and how special they made them feel, even when they just saw us walking past to our hotel.

My 10 year old went to say goodbye and was crying on our last day because he was leaving behind his friends at the restaurant.

Places like this are really worthy of our tourist dollar. Have a meal or 2 here, you will...
