1)We came back to this restaurant after 7 years because I remembered that the green curry was very good and wanted to try it again. After waiting for over 1 hour I received morning glory instead of green curry. The woman I spoke to about it was very rude and didn’t apologise, she just said it would take 3 minutes for them to make me my green curry. The last thing someone who waited over one hour for morning glory wants to hear, but I agreed. 2)They asked if they should bring the food at the same time and we said no, to bring everything when it’s ready. We could see my boyfriend’s fish waiting on the grill for ages waiting for my morning glory which I didn’t order. Therefore I wonder why they even asked. The fish tasted just like steamed fish, it must have gotten bored while waiting 3) the beer was warm 4) we ordered desert at the same time as the rest of the food, but the waitress told us only when we were done eating that they were out of it.

To summarise I have been in Thailand for 3 weeks now and never have I been so disappointed by something, I don’t recommend this place. The only reason for which I gave 2 stars is beaches the green curry was...

21 April 2025 8:25pm Opposite where we stayed - this place was brightly lit and looked pretty charming with the bamboo furniture. A wide variety of food mostly focusing on Thai and Chinese food. The Khao Soi is their specialty so I ordered that with beef. Didn’t regret it - it was noodles in a coconut milk thickened broth, only pepper level spicy - I can’t tolerate spice actually but this one was both savoury and creamy, and came with an artistic fried noodle topping. Totally enjoyed that dish. Also ordered something called Fried Butter - with a choice of meats. We picked pork, but when it arrived it looked like a simple stir fry with plenty of potato cubes and vegetables and a few pieces of pork -and hardly taste of butter. It was quite forgettable to you might want to give this dish a miss. The fried rice was pretty average - the Thai Sausage tasted exactly like Chinese sausage, only softer. Nothing to shout about, really. Service was fast and efficient - there were only 2 couples when we arrived, so we didn’t have to wait long for our meal. This is one of the more expensive meals we’ve had...

Living on the island for a few months, has given us a chance to try almost all of the restaurants in Khong Khlong. M Thai has become what we compare them all to. After almost a month of trying others, we have made the decision to stop going anywhere else to eat. Why bother?! M is hands down, the best food on the island. We haven't had one dish that hasn't become our... favorite Laab, favorite Khoa Soi, favorite curry. favorite breakfast. Seriously. She is a gracious and kind host, and makes a point to come say hello. Stop eating anywhere else. M Thai is the spot. You can feel her heart in every bite of food. Does it take a minute? Sometimes. You know why? Because one amazing woman is cooking every single meal to order. And ... Life here is just not as hurried. Play cards, talk to each other. And...

Update 2025 The Khao soi continues to be amazing .. copious pieces of chicken (not thighs however like I’ve had elsewhere. The ladies who work here are sweet. Presentation with detail , garnish plate with options I would never have considered but blend (pineapple & pickled kale) .. creamy rich and the additional curry paste let me bump it up a few notches. When it’s good it’s good 😋 Also they BBQ chicken everyday in front of the restaurant… looks so delicious.

Awesome food. I just stumbled onto this place looking for a reasonable breakfast. 99 baht for omelet, toast, salad, fruit and coffee. I saw the sign for one of my favorite Thai dishes, khao soi, and came back for lunch and bought some watermelon to bring back to the room. Would have gone back for dinner but was still full. There is always tomorrow Very reasonably priced food. No ocean view but the price and quality made up for it!
