As fully vegan travelers, this restaurant definitely makes us feel seen and understood, despite not being a vegan restaurant. The owner, Dao, is such a gentle woman who is always smiling and helped my girlfriend and me choose the right dishes to eat, ensuring they were definitely vegan. Not only that, but upon request, she made them non-spicy (which is unusual in Thailand). We came here a couple of times, and the dishes in the picture are the Massaman Curry and the Tom Yap noodle soup, both with vegetables and tofu. The taste is beyond comprehension—most definitely some of the best Thai dishes we’ve eaten in all of Thailand, and trust me, we’ve been around. We also drank some juices; the pineapple and mango ones were especially sweet, and the glasses were generously sized. Finally, the best mango sticky rice ever! At first, I was a bit surprised by the price (120 baht is a bit expensive for this traditional dessert), but when I saw the size of the dish, I understood. It’s more like a full main dish than a dessert! Also, both the coconut milk and the sticky rice were served warm, so the contrast with the sweet, fresh mango was an absolute bomb. All in all, a great restaurant with many vegan options and a flexible owner who accommodates...

We actually had plans to go elsewhere but the first choice was closed, the second choice had a queue so we ended up at Lantasure - and we're really glad we did!

Started with a couple of Lassis (coconut and pineapple) and a watermelon juice. All delicious and actually Lassi-esque (bitter yogurt taste).

Then had Papaya salad, Fried fish cakes (tod mun pla) and deep fried fish in chili sauce. All superb. The salad was fresh, spicy (which was optional) and coated in peanuts). The fried fish was delicious and clearly just made. The piece de resistencé was the Tod mun pla. I usually have this on the street in Thailand (very cheap) or a moderately priced started in Thai restaurants in London. I was surprised at the price, 150baht, as street version is as little as 20baht. However when they came it was obvious they had been made to order, were massive, and contain beautiful white fish, lovely lemongrass and curry spicing and covered in panko breadcrumbs.

I didn't have room for fried ice cream. But...

Ok, so we searched on “Indian Restaurants” and this place comes up. We were in the mood for Indian food! A couple reviews really praised the Indian food, so we went. It is a typically “we service everything restaurant”. The food was good, but not really anything to write home about. The biggest disappointment for us, there were only 7 items under the Indian Food section....and like 3 or 4 were Naan. Really the only Indian dish is a chicken and potatoes dish. Again, no complaints, it was OK, just not what we were expecting. I suspect their Thai selections are good. The mango smoothie / shake was good, as well as the Naan. I should add, it’s an open air type place which is very cozy, clean and nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Price is fair and very reasonable. Next time though we will try the Maharaja in hopes they have more...
