Sunee Place — Restaurant in Ko Lanta Yai

Sunee's Restaurant is a hidden gem in Koh Lanta's old town. The food was beyond expectations, as was the service. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. This is a family-run restaurant and you can definitely feel it, because as soon as you walk in you feel like you're part of the family. The ingredients are fresh and well prepared. I had my first barracuda curry which blew my taste buds away. It was really exceptional, all the food we had there was on the same level. I will definitely return to Sunee's before I leave the island. Did I tell you they are extremely friendly and humble people, I loved being around them and their food. I highly recommend trying them out if you are wondering around the old streets...

Wow. What an experience! Sunee is like everybody's mammy. She looks after her daughter, her granddaughter, her mother and all of her customers, all from their lovely little restaurant in the Old Town. You can expect wonderful local food freshly prepared to order, amazing butterfly pea sodas and lassies. If she has the time, ask her to make you her surprise menu! So delicious! Sunee and her daughter Sareena go above and beyond to make sure you're looked after, not only at their restaurant but also for your whole trip including laundry, transport, day trips and other top recommendations. Very friendly and lovely Restaurant and Owners. Sunee the owner was very talkative and can speak English very well. She was so gentle, we could even have a drink, go visit the old town and come back to pay. The Butterfly Pea tee was sooooooo good!!!! We unfortunately missed to buy the flowers at her place. Back in Ao Nang, Krabi, we tried to drink the tee again but it’s not nearly as good as her drink was 🤩🤩🥰🥰 I Wonder what she put in other than here in ao nang. Definitely a must try.

We ate fried rice with green curry and fried rice with massaman. It was also really good. You will be able to write something in her little guest book, we read a lot of good experiences nearly like ours with sunee and her family.
