We had one of the last meals during our Thailand trip here, and it was the best after three weeks of visiting many restaurants. Coco Tango is beautifully placed next to the beach. Palm trees are lit at night, and the overall atmosphere oozes thai beach cozyness. The food was phenomenal. We had deep-fried squid as starter. Soft on the inside and crispy tempura on the outside with delicious garlic dip (lots of garlic ;). As for the main, we had a BBQ fish filet with garlic butter. Total taste explosion. Best fish during our trip by far. As sides, we had french fries (good but nothing special. We craved something different than rice after weeks of it) and a very tasty pomelo salad with shrimp. I never had pomelo in a salad before, and together with the chosen spices, it was something really something special. Sweet, sour, spicy, a pure delight. We were nearly bursting but had to try the mango sticky rice. Again, it's very good. Could not let go of anything to waste and ate the full dessert. All this accompanied two passion fruit mojitos each, which were also superb. We went home with a smile on our faces and full bellies. Read more5* for the view, 4* for the food. 1* for the service and thus the vibe – unfriendly, slow, grumpy, unwelcoming. When the group of 8 in front of us (waiting to be seated) was shouted at by who I assume was the manager, we should have just turned and left. Unfortunately, we stayed and received the same unprofessional service. Including after asking if we could order (having sat there for 10 minutes with no service) being told rudely to ‘Wait, I’m busy’, and then eventually when our food arrived, he put our 2 curries down on the table in silence (2 different curries) and when we asked which is which, he was just so belligerent and rude. Such a shame because with more professional staff this place could...
