Went there on 14/5/25 Monday night. Saw on tiktok and made the decision to try. We stayed at Aonang Princeville, took a tuk tuk about less than 10mins away for 200baht.
I can say hands down this place is a gem in Aonang. In fact I’ve never had such good experience with service and food and variety of seafood to try. Coming here is like all sort of Thai food is available, from cooked food to various seafood, live crabs, various types of Thai salad, banana roti pratas, variety of condiments and importantly the OYSTERS damn fresh and yummy, no funky smell or taste. It is safe to have it raw and with the added condiments just made it so so so so nice. Singapore’s carousel oyster also not as nice as theirs. The clams, lala, cockles, gong gong, you can take and go their boiling station and boil according to your preference. Fish you can get them bbq salted fish kind and it’s cooked to perfection. Their som tum is also nicely done. We were lucky to have met the lady boss who taught me how to have the raw oyster Thai-styled. I love how they ensure cleanliness, freshness and the food are well covered and constant fanning the food so shoo the fly away. I cannot emphasise enough the place is clean, hygiene well maintained, ambience is lovely, large space, plenty of seats but it gets crowded when comes evening. The bbq uses charcoal which makes the food taste better compared to electric bbq kind. Variety of drinks and ice cream as well. Friendly lady boss also assisted us to get a transport back to our hotel cuz there’s no public transport available around that area, it’s way away from the bustling Aonang. Because of tong talay it makes me missed krabi so much and I can’t wait for the next trip there so that I can visit tong talay again with my family members the next time! I’m sorry I don’t have much photos to justify this post as I was too busy enjoying the food.
PS: don’t forget to try Radarom spa, highly recommended for professional service! Before massage enjoy breakfast at Ja’dam neither variety of traditional Thai-malay breakfast, the fried chicken alamak… so tender juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, really cooked to perfection. I miss...
Read moreAll 5 people were poisoned. The oysters were dead, the range of dishes was more modest than in buffets for 300 baht. Even before the closing time, they began to clean up and see us out, we wanted to take ice cream on the path. So for 850 baht we were not allowed to do this. I DO NOT ADVISE
UPD Does the fact that we took ice cream with us justify our poisoning?! It was half an hour before closing and the staff started to clean everything up and we decided to leave early so as not to disturb them and took 4 (not 10 how did you watch your records?) ice creams with us and put them in a backpack, and when our friend went for another one, you did not let her take it for a total check of 4250 baht!
UPD2 They write reviews for themselves) After our negative reviews, several positive ones appeared at once with a small time difference, despite the fact that before this there were no reviews for several days)
UPD3 If you pour lime juice on oysters and they don't react, that means they're not fresh, right? Why would we be angry if, according to you, we did what we wanted and took ice cream with us?) On the contrary, we were happy, and then we realized that we were poisoned, that's why...
Read morefirst of all, we enjoyed the dinner. the seafoods and the service were totally on point. there’s nothing to complain about.
it’s just that we should’ve been more cautious about eating oysters, whether eat it raw or cooked. we thought the oysters were fresh and safe to eat it raw (there was no any sign) so i ate 1 raw oyster, and i thought it didn’t taste good to eat it raw, so i cooked another one and ate it, meanwhile my bf ate 3 raw oysters.
then my bf got serious sick at that night (we didn’t eat / drink anything else after that). high fever, vomit, not able to consume anything. our 4 days trip of krabi became 2 days because he couldn’t go anywhere. trip was ruined :’)
3 days after, he’s not getting any better and admitted to hospital, turned out it’s a virus infection. (he’s still in the hospital) and i had diarrhoea for few days too, mild symptoms and i assumed that’s because i only had 1 raw oyster.
i’m sharing this not to blame it on the restaurant but just wanna raise awareness about this. it might be our carelessness on eating oysters. so yeah, no blaming.
anyways it’s a lesson for me to learnt. always cook...
