White Lotus — Restaurant in Krabi Province

This restaurant has a great ambience and service staff is well mannered and quite helpful in answering your queries.

But food is quite bland and lack any of the Indian food flavours. I tried this restaurant twice and even after explicitly asking for spicier flavours, food lacked even bare minimum. We even returned the food once, asking it to be made spicier but got similar flavourless food back.

It's not just spices, even samosa, papad we tried had a lot of oil. Gulab jamun were quite hard.

Only good thing was marinated brocolli in Broccoli Biryani but even in that dish, rice were completely flavourless. For the kind of premium this restaurant charges, it's supposed to do a better job at serving "Indian tasting" Indian food. Just naming the dish as something indian, and then serving flavourless similar looking food, isn't going to cut it.

Our server Ashish tried making it to us by giving some sides and a complimentary dessert but dessert was also not up to the mark. It looks like their Indian chef has not eaten actual Indian food in quite some time. Jyran at Sofitel BKC Mumbai has one of the best Indian foods, and this restaurant is a complete contrast of it.
