My girlfriend and I happened into cafecito by chance.
I saw some motorcycles outside I liked and wanted a coffee.
We were considering breakfast.
We unknowingly placed our coffee order with the owner, who was so friendly.
Two cold-brewed coffees.
We were pretty excited, since we hadn’t seen cold-brew anywhere else yet in Pai. We decided to grab breakfast. The menu was well-written, easy to navigate, and everything could be made vegetarian or vegan.
They serve breakfast options all day. I ordered the omelet with mushroom carnitas and my girlfriend ordered the Mexican Torta with mushroom carnitas.
We waited for the food on their rustic and modern patio with our coffees.
The food came out quickly and looked amazing. Very nice presentation and great portions. They had placed homemade hot sauces and Himalayan shakers on the table.
My omelet was cooked perfectly and was sprinkled with goat cheese. It came with a small cabbage and pico de gallo salad on the side, but the mushroom carnitas stole the show. Cooked and textured identically to carnitas I’ve had back home. The flavor was fantastic.
Aundrea’s Torta came out moments later, and looked even more delicious. Like a Mexican sandwich served on house-made bread with pico de gallo, pickled jalepenos, mushroom carnitas and queso fresca. The bread was soft and delicious.
Everything about the food has me longing to come back. Definitely recommend visiting.
The owner was remarkably friendly. A frequent visitor of the states and Mexico, she has her cooking dialed. We talked to her for probably thirty minutes about cooking and pai. She even treated us with a Belgian chocolate truffle after our meal.

Read moreA friend recommended I try this place and I'm so happy I went! I got the bagel with jalapeno cream cheese. The bagel was the best I've had in Asia so far! My friends got the tacos and a tostada. They grew up on Mexican food and said it was the best Mexican food they have had on their trip. We ended up ordering 3 ice-cream sandwiches. They are out of this world! I recommend going just to have an ice-cream sandwich if nothing else! After sitting and talking for a while we were given homemade peanut butter cups by one of the staff and then greeted by the owner. She asked if we had tried the margaritas and when we said no she proceeded to make little shots for all of us! We ended up staying 45 minutes after closing time, which we didn't realize, but the staff didn't rush us at all. This is definitely a place I will be returning to the next...

A fairly simple menu, choose a dish then select the "meat," either homemade chorizo (we think this is the tastiest), shredded chicken, avocado or mushroom (made to taste and feel like meat). They serve Mexican-style breakfast all day. A lot of their products are homemade including all their hot sauces.
We ordered the Smothered Burrito with Chicken, Tacos with Chicken and Quesadilla with Homemade Chorizo. They were all exceptionally prepared and yummy, we have to come back to try their other stuff.
Don't forget dessert...the Ice Cream Sandwich (with homemade chocolate chip almond cookie and homemade vanilla ice cream)...
