Maikhao Beach. Drinks & Restaurant — Restaurant in Mai Khao

We stumbled upon this hidden gem on our last night in town, and we wished we had found it sooner!

Located just a short walk from our hotel, this restaurant offered stunning views of the beach and sunset along the way. The street was well-lit and safe to walk on, even late at night.

The food was freshly made and delicious, although a bit salty. We ordered 7 plates for 1620 baht (for 2 adults and 1 child), which was a great value.

However, the service was a bit slow, and we had to wait a while for our food. The staff was friendly, but they seemed busy and overwhelmed at times.

One downside (or upside, depending on who you are), was that smoking was allowed, which was a bit of a nuisance. Also, the frozen lychee drinks were not tasty.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere, and we would have loved to try more of their dishes if we had found this place earlier!

Altho there are now excessive numbers of tourists, this place manages to get out good food at a good price . Topping it off is a large selection of good smoothies with option to include yogurt . If I am staying north of the airport, HKT , This Is the place for food . My only problem was the micro fridge at the hotel . . . just barely able to handle take -out for late night snacking . Also I brought my Starbux reusable cup & they were happy to Not waste extra plastic . Altho with the mega heat, next time I would bring a better insulated...

I ordered rice with vegetables, which included mushrooms. Mushrooms make me feel sick, so I kindly asked if they could prepare the rice again without mushrooms. Shortly after, they brought me another plate of rice, again with mushrooms. When I returned the dish, they were upset and didn’t even apologize. They said they would make it again, which I refused.
