Yum Yum On the Beach — Restaurant in Mai Khao

I ended up at Yum Yum because my regular place was closed for a holiday / start of Lunar New Year . A gentleman there arranged a tuk-tuk to take me up road to Yum Yum & it was very good . They had a huge lunch menu & a long list of smoothie options including iced Matcha lattes ;-)) Alas this was my last day in Phuket so I didn't find out if their coffee lattes were brewed or powdered coffee . My hotel was making theirs with the powder stuff. ;-( ( I haven't seen instant coffee since the grandparents passed away ) Anyways . . . next trip to Phuket, I'll come here again . Side note : if you are trying out Google translate , it worked well in Bangkok for English to Thai but it seems many in Phuket speak Burmese instead of Thai . I was able to switch to Burmese but not sure how ...

Ok..haven't posted anything for a long time, but after tonight, I feel compelled. Stay with me, it's gunna get a bit drawn out. A long time ago (before internet) l had a meal (Alaskan crab in chilli sauce and Alaskan Crab in pepper sauce) in Singapore that when asked, lve always stated it was the best meal l ever had! The other diner's there that night agreed (for the most part). Tonight, l had a simple meal that took me right back to that memory! And a tenth of the price!!! There are a lot of things that can be said about fine dining, is it experience, ambience, company or extravagance? Yum Yum all right! The food was terrific and very well priced. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We were staying a little bit away from the restaurant, so asked if they could organise a tuk tuk for us. The owner went away, and came back on his own version of a tuk tuk and gave us a lift home. Didn't even ask us for any money for the lift, although of course we gave him some money anyway. Can't recommend it highly enough. Don't make the mistake we did and find it on your last day in Mai Khao - look for...
