If you love food, then you'll absolutely fall in love with the creations at Harlan's, and here's why.
I arrived early at 6:30pm, a few tables in already before me. A warm friendly greeting from the staff and got promptly seated next to the food counter, which is exactly where I wanted to be so I could watch the master at work.
I introduced myself to Harlan as this was my first visit and right away we got talking food and restaurants.
The waitress asked if I'd like to order a drink, to which I replied I'd like to choose my food first. Harlan then comps me with a Harlan Smash that he wanted to get me started with; a deliciously refreshing cocktail of High Quality Gin, Lime, Basil and Cucumber, and right away my taste buds sparked into life. Was seriously good.
I said to Harlan I'd like a pasta dish to start with, he suggested the Prawn Rigatoni with Parmesan Cheese, Nduja Spicy Sausage, Basil, Tomato.
While I waited for my pasta I was served some nice Home Baked Ciabatta and a really nice Crisp Corn Tortilla with a Garlic Butter and an Avocado Mayo on the side. I polished off both in seconds. Very nice.
Then came a Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Caviar Cone which Harlan wanted me to try. Such intense deep flavour, absolutely delicious. What a taste sensation!
One of my favourite sandwich combinations is Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese with Dill, Black Pepper and a squeeze of Lemon on a New York Bagel. And if they had them with Harlan's filling I'd be getting one every day for lunch!
My pasta arrived, piping hot, looked fantastic, had loads of large prawns and a really great creamy sauce. I was absolutely not expecting the flavour punch though. The Rigatoni was as perfectly cooked as is possible to get, the prawns were meaty, succulent and full of flavour and again perfectly cooked, but the sauce, OMG, talk about on another level or what! Creamy, slightly spicy, with everything working together perfectly, washed down with a lovely New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I turned to Harlan and told him it was the best pasta dish I've ever tasted! It really was. Just check out the photo of my empty plate. 😋
On Harlan's recommendation I also ordered a Wagyu Picanha Steak served on a Quinoa Salad with Chimichurri Sauce. I watched Harlan cooking the steak and asked him to snap a couple of shots for me while it was on their custom made charcoal grill.
Another taste explosion 💥. The Steak, cooked just how I like it, tender and juicy, the Chimichurri Sauce, so flavour packed and worked perfectly with the Quinoa Salad. Was quiet large meal so by now I had to pace myself. 😀
Desert? I waited a good 30 minutes before I ordered as I was already really full. I ordered the Pani Puree Style Crispy Pastry Filled with Belgian Chocolate with a Suzette Mango Mixed Fruit Sauce on a Bed of Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream.
And again, totally blown away, such a great combination, perfectly ripe, sweet fruit, a great crumble and sensational chocolate filled cripy shells. 😋
All in all, in the top best meals I've ever had! Took me two and a half hours to get through that lot, and by the time I left at 9pm they were pretty much full and the place was really buzzing so I'd definitely suggest booking.

Let me begin by raving about the Burrata with smoked ham tomato sauce and pesto. This dish was a symphony of flavors that left me craving more. The creamy Burrata cheese, with its velvety texture, paired beautifully with the smoky ham and the tangy tomato sauce. The addition of the aromatic pesto took it to another level, adding a burst of freshness to every bite. Each component harmonized flawlessly, creating a dish that was both sophisticated and comforting.
Now, let's talk about the Brooklyn Bad Boy Burger—a true masterpiece of indulgence. The juicy patty, cooked to perfection, was complemented by the heavenly combination of caramelized onions and truffle mayonnaise. The sweetness of the onions, mingling with the rich umami flavor of the truffle, created a taste sensation that was unparalleled. The burger was accompanied by perfectly crispy fries, making it a satisfying and fulfilling experience.

Read moreTonight’s dinner was truly an amazing experience. I was invited to Harlon’s and it was definitely a treat.
Dinner was perfection and created by a gracious and humble host. We were greeted when we entered, coached through the menu, asked how everything was and then thanked at our departure all while he still prepared excellence for everyone else dining.
The restaurant is quaint. Not small but not big. I would say about 6-8 tables. I would recommend reservations for sure.
We were 4 and we all got the 5 course set menu for just under 2000 baht each and it should be noted no ++, the price you see is the price you pay.
We asked if it was possible to get a different starter for 2 of us just so we did not all get the exact same things. We were going to share them. He said he’d do one better and he threw in a 6th course complimentary.
The service, the setting and especially the food were beyond expectations. Everything came in a timely (if not quick) manner and we even asked for a little extra time between the pasta and the main course of steak.
We were served in the following order:
Smoked salmon with cream cheese, caviar and sesame cone.
Garlic prawns and Spanish chorizo with lobster sauce.
Japanese Hokkaido Scallop carpaccio with crushed tomatoes, lemon and olive oil.
Rigatoni with truffle sauce and foie gras.
Wagyu picanha steak medium rare with chimchurri sauce on top and a pepper mix below.
Lastly, for dessert we had crispy pastry filled with Belgian chocolate, Suzette mango mixed fruit sauce and vanilla ice cream.
I don’t think it’s possible to overstate how good of a meal this was. The things that really stood out for me is the salmon and scallop starters, mainly because I’m not a big fan of either or much seafood at all. However, these were simply outstanding. I’ve been converted!
The steak was insanely tender and delicious. Cooked to perfection.
Highly...
