Donât quite get the gist of the place other then, it is a great place for the hordes to come take lots and lots of beautiful pictures. Somehow, the first thought when I heard House Of Benedict, was wizardry (Doctor Steven Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch). Upon entering, it was a kaleidoscope of themes. The entrance is heavily retro. It was ruminating the era of rail travels with old luggage and iconic chairs one finds in seasoned train stations. As one enters the archway, one will be greeted by the sky-lit alley of what appears to be of colonial styled stairways under balconies reminisces of masonry from old European churches. Walking further in, the vibes of waterlogged Venice complete with a mockup of a speedboat floating in a long shallow pool resembling a canal. And at the end, a pink submarine selling drinks. On the sides of Venice, you have Moroccan corridors. Your tiny brain will go wild just trying to comprehend all these. Hidden behind the side walls, you find food trucks and what appears to be some kind of bar on the opposite side. We had lunch there, I have to say the burger (Boo Burger) was good, really good, even though pricey. To hydrate the brain from too much processing, there is a cafĂ© tainted in heavy yellow from the tinted windows at one corner, and there is also a bubble tea shop. Up the staircase, an art museum and another cafĂ© that is styled like a carousal complete with horses flying above the tables. On the same side where the gallery is, what appears to be a beach bar styled sitting area of sorts with heavy straw works overhanging. Opposite side across the open alley, what looks like a cross between a mental asylum and a world war 2 orphanage of London. This is where the resting area is, they have surfboard for tables, and one can have meals here.
There is an entrance fee to be paid for visiting, and that is THB100 for Thais, THB200 for foreigners. Children under 120 cm gets in free. With the entry tickets, one also gets a whole bunch of discount coupons which can be used in the food outlets within. All the cafes, bars, food trucks and outlets that were mentioned, they are retailers on rental agreements. From the time I entered to the time I left, my mind seemed to be on overdrive all the time. The crowds and a bus load of tourist did not allow me to make peace with this vibrantly exciting place at all. So, it was go with the flow and to join the excitement of my hyper kid who love the place so much being fascinated by everything. Yes indeed, this is a very spellbinding place. And what is great is that it is entirely air-conditioned. Itâs a cool place to be in during these hot burning months of Thailand. If one does need to visit this wonderland, I suggest coming in the less busy hours. We were here from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm on a Sunday. It was so full of people that a photographer trying to take pictures near me was snarling at people who photobombed his composition. So, to avoid the swarm, visiting when it just open in the morning, or after 4 when the crowd starts to dwindle will be better.
This venue is trendy and trending it is. There are many of these exquisite places in Thailand of the same nature. Unfortunately, trend is the nature of such business and after a couple of years, the inevitable will come. The good days for many had came and gone. I have seen many of these in popular tourist belts of Khao Yai, Hua Hin and Pattaya fell from grace into ghost towns. Aging and suffering from lack of maintenance, they lost their appeal and faded into oblivion. While the House of Benedict is still shiny and new, it is good to visit and bask in all her glory and might. The momentum of increasing tourism should be able to sustain her for a long...
Read moreThis is an Instagram influencerâs dream, but honestly, thatâs about it. The concept is coolâthe rooms are stunning, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the aesthetics and artistry behind the place, with tons of photo ops.
However, thereâs a major catch: they clearly donât want people to fully embrace the photo vibe theyâve created. Before entering and even in the bathrooms, there are big signs saying âNO CHANGING CLOTHESâ or youâll be fined 3,000 THB. It felt a little contradictory since the place is clearly designed for photos, yet they don't want you to change outfits to make the most of it.
You do get discount food coupons, but honestly, the food is overpriced for what you get. The attendants, on the other hand, seem pretty bored, kind of zoned out, but that wasnât necessarily a bad thing. They donât hover over you, so youâre free to wander around and take pictures without anyone on your tail, which I actually appreciated.
Overall, I don't think this place is worth the hype especially with an entrance fee âunless you're the type who LOVES taking photos. I usually do, but I stayed for only about 30 minutes, snapped my shots, wasn't interested in the food and quickly got bored since there wasnât...
Read moreExquisite, exotic annd elegant. This is one of the most beautiful cafe in Pattaya.
You have to pay the entrance fee (THB 100 for Thai and THB 200 for foreigners) to access the cafe and the ticket has discounts for stores inside.
It is absolutely breathtaking when you first enter the hall as it has variety of styles and decorations in one place. It's amazing how they cleverly combines different arts and architects into this wonderful scenery. You can easily spend 2-3 hour there on your first time visit to take tons of photos and to enjoy the vibes.
They have coffee shop, small restaurants and souvenirs shop where you can drink, chill, eat and buy. The coffee is good and the food is tasty.
I thinks this cafe is great for taking photos but the really best thing about this place is you can revisit many times without sitting on the same spot or in the same corner you already went. Another good thing I notice here is, despite all of the customers, it is peaceful and quiet.
If you want to take photos of this gorgeous place, you should come before noon when it is less crowded. But I bet it is more beautiful at night when they turn on the lights.
Must...
