Unfortunately our experience here was a little disappointing. Every time we have come to Khao Lak this place has been a 'must to' visit. Once seated & with 2 of us already eyeing off the pasta seafood dishes to order, we were ask what drinks to order. Once those were placed then we were told that no prawns were available. So option one was gone! Then it was decided on the vongole.....but we were told that was not available either!!! My gnocchi was great but unfortunately 2 of our group missed out on what they originally wanted. Perhaps the restaurant should have had a sign up or be told upon sitting down before ordering our drinks. The Aperol Spritz was basically soda water with a dash of Aperol. Only one tiramisu dessert available for table of 4. It really was not our night & we feel that it is not the same as it use to be. Years ago we met Davide the Italian chef but we're not sure if he is still running it. There are a few excellent Italian restaurants in town, we did our research on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUsed to be good but this is what happens when locals take over a proper chefs restaurant and menus items. Nothing here is the same or as good as before. Told the staff to cancel the main foods for two guests because everyone ate the appetizers an hour ago, and mains were brought out every 15 minutes while other tables still being served. Waited another 30 minutes to allow half our table to finish.
Then they tried to force us to accept cold old food after acknowledging that they didnāt even start to prepare it, when we asked to cancel.
This place is not what it was 4 years ago. Guessing itās bc itās owned by a new thailand owner. Chef advertised nowhere in sight. Most staff had ā the sands hotelāclothes on. Poor souls if having to work 2 jobs a day to make decent local salary. Waitress very rude, service was poor. Will never come back again and advise all others to spend their money at other establishments.
What a shame. Iāve lived in Thailand for 10 years and never experienced...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had the absolute pleasure of dining at Amici Italian Bistro in Khao Lak with a group of 35 people - and it was nothing short of phenomenal!
From the moment we arrived, Khun Boonta, Tuon, Sai, Earn, David, and Chef Wat made us feel right at home. The service was warm, attentive, and incredibly efficient - certainly no small feat for such a large group! Every detail was spot on, and we were truly impressed by their professionalism and genuine hospitality.
Now the food ⦠the wood-fired pizzas were out of this world - crispy crust, smoky flavor, and toppings that hit all the right notes. And the chicken Caesar salad? Absolutely to die for. Fresh, perfectly dressed, and bursting with flavor.
Amici is the kind of place that turns a meal into a memory. Whether youāre with a small group or a party of 35, youāre in good hands. We canāt wait...
