Thai Corner Restaurant — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

We were with four families at the Thai Corner Khao Lak. We received a friendly welcome, and even without a reservation, the staff immediately made every effort to find us (eight adults and seven children) a good table. The tables are beautifully set, and the atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting. The children ate wraps, pizza, and spaghetti. I would particularly like to mention the Bolognese. It's a delicious ragù, just like you'd get from a real Italian restaurant. The pizzas are also very good. The dough is very aromatic. The adults ate a lot of Thai food. The Tom Kha soup is excellent. The seafood was also delicious and plentiful! We also had salad and pizza. We all ate well! The portions were quite generous overall, and the prices more than reasonable! We went there today and wasn’t very impressed. We notice there was a 3% service charge, which is typical in this area, but unfortunately it mean some of the staff clearly weren’t interested in service with a smile. Moving on, there was three of us who ordered food and drinks. The Diet Coke and shakes were fantastic. The fajitas were good but overpriced. The next two meals only got worse. One was charged at around 290thb and must have cost approximately 25thb and the last they got it wrong and was probably double the standard rate in this area and others. Overall, a huge letdown. Quality was poor, service was poor and they are massively overpriced. Shame as I was really looking forward to going there. Hopefully, they...

Good service overall.

Food wise... The deep fried snapper was smothered in a sweet chilli sauce. The ratio was too heavy on the sauce side. My preference would have been to be able to taste the fish and not just the batter and sauce The fish was deboned which was a plus 3/5

The seafood hotplate with oyster and garlic sauce was underwhelming; 2 shrimp, 1small piece of fish and 4 calamari... Was hoping for a better ratio and maybe some muscles, etc. More of a veggie dish 2/5

Fish and chips - more of a kids meal. Fish was quite thin and pasty/mushy rather than flesh. 1/5

Value wise, okay. Would strictly order non western food if you are checking...
