Bussaba Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

I had the incredible fortune to discover Bussaba, a true gem located right in the heart of Khao Lak!This place exceeded all my expectations when it comes to food, hygiene, and the warm hospitality of the staff. I was so impressed that I returned for dinner two nights in a row and immediately started recommending it to all my friends! If you're searching for good halal food during your travels, you absolutely must visit Bussaba.. it's a rare find! We kicked off our meals with mouthwatering spring rolls for starters, followed by Pad Thai and chicken green curry, all of which were simply scrumptious. But what truly sets this restaurant apart is Boo, the main server. She’s an amazing person who went above and beyond for us. When we mentioned our interest in a nearby massage place, Boo kindly contacted the owner on our behalf, despite the late hour and the heavy rain. She even took the extra effort to drive us to the massage place, which was just across the street! A huge thank you to Boo for the stellar service! If you’re in Khao Lak and looking for authentic Thai food, Bussaba is an absolute must-visit destination and there’s this place Moonlight Massage right across the street.. they legit do an amazing massage....

Only one person were happy with their food, and that was a Thai dish. The burgers were 2/5 at best. Odd spices, dry on the surface and mushy on the inside. Gordon Ramsay would have torn it apart like an angry tiger. The schnitzel breading was mushy too and the meat most certainly wasn't veal cutlet. The drinks were OK, but arrived slowly and a few at a time, we very specifically asked that dinner was not served before we had had a chance to finish our cocktails, but it did anyway. Some of the staff struggled with English and orders were confused at times, but it was all done courteously and with a smile. Well kept place, feels like a step above many others, but the traffic noise is fairly loud. The ambiance and staff attentiveness is amazing! You can tell that the staff and the owner really want to make this a positive experience for everyone, from the interior decor to the staff member who was firing up the griddle at the front of the restaurant for the special hot stone dishes.

The food however was mediocre and didn’t seem to have the authentic thai taste I was hoping for. Maybe it was an off day as they were really busy, but the Tom Kha soup wasn’t fragrant enough, the pad thai noodles were soggy (overcooked) and over-sauced, and fried ice cream was a bit too greasy as the dough seemed to have soaked up too much of the oil.
