I recently dined at Mae Pa in Khao Lak, and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing. The restaurant, despite being crowded, managed to impress me with its efficient service and delicious Thai dishes. On my visit, I decided to try two of their specialties: stir-fried crab and fish with lime. The stir-fried crab was on the expensive side, but it turned out to be a real treat. The dish was bursting with flavor, and the crab was cooked to perfection. The combination of spices and seasonings used in the stir-fry made it a memorable indulgence, and I felt that the price was justified by the quality of the dish. The fish with lime was another winner. It had a delightful zesty and tangy flavor that made my taste buds dance with delight. The freshness of the fish was evident, and the balance of flavors in the dish was simply perfect. It was a refreshing and satisfying choice, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mae Pa.
What impressed me most about Mae Pa was their prompt service, even during a busy evening. Despite the bustling crowd, my food arrived at my table within 20 minutes of ordering, which was a pleasant surprise. It speaks to the restaurant's dedication to providing a seamless dining experience. On another occasion, I decided to try the Kra Pao Kai and took it back to my hotel. The dish was incredibly tasty and, as requested, very spicy. The rich aroma of basil and spices filled the air as I opened the container, and every bite was a flavorful explosion. It made for an excellent meal in the comfort of my hotel room.
In conclusion, Mae Pa in Khao Lak offers a delightful dining experience, featuring a well-balanced menu with options that cater to various tastes. While some dishes may be on the pricey side, the quality and flavors they deliver make them well worth it. With efficient service even during peak hours, Mae Pa is an excellent choice for those looking to savor the authentic taste of Thai cuisine. I will certainly return for more culinary adventures at this establishment...
Read moreI ordered 2 Khao Pad Crispy Pork and a plate of fried chicken wings for my son. The waitress seemed to understand me since she can communicate in English. However, when my order arrived, the chicken was not what I had requested. Instead of fried chicken wings, they served me sliced chicken breast with rice. I also noticed that there was only one portion of Khao Pad, so I had to order another one.
I was unsatisfied with the food for several reasons. Firstly, the Khao Pad rice had two colors, brown and white, which was confusing and didn't seem right. Secondly, I found the prices to be too expensive compared to before. Previously, the fried rice was priced at 60 baht, then increased to 70 baht, and now it's 80 baht. Additionally, charging 150 baht for a slice of chicken breast seemed excessive.
I believe it's not a good practice to change food prices when loyal customers consistently support the restaurant. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend this restaurant. I hope the owner reads this and considers making changes to improve the dining experience and...
Read moreIf I could give 100 stars, I would. Mae Pa is not just a restaurant. It is a temple. A sacred ground where culinary gods descend each evening to bless your soul through your taste buds.
I came. I ate. I ascended.
The Khao Soi? No, no… this is not a dish. This is divine intervention. One spoonful and my tongue filed for emancipation, declaring Mae Pa its true and only ruler. The depth of flavor? I cried. Twice. A local dog comforted me.
This bowl doesn’t just warm your stomach — it rewrites your life story. I saw my past lives flash before me in coconut curry form. I hugged the chef. I nearly proposed.
If you're in Khao Lak and you don’t eat here, honestly, what are you even doing? Just go back to your hotel and rethink your choices. If I could hire Grab to deliver Mae Pa every day for the rest of my existence, I would — and I’d tip in gold.
TL;DR: Mae Pa is heaven. Khao Soi is the chosen one. 10/10...
