I've been a fan of The Rusty Pelican since '08, always seeking out this local treasure on my biennial visits to Khao Lak/Bang Niang. It has evolved throughout the years, updating & upgrading its location and menu a few times-- but always for the better; never sacrificing the standards of flavor, quality & value that they set early-on. Their sizzling fajitas and homemade salsas still sing in my memory!
In daydream-planning my next holiday, I was happy to see that they're still open and serving the community during these difficult times from another new spot (which I have so far only seen in photos, as my trip this year was derailed). While it now seems to be further from the beach, I'm certain the vibe remains the same as their famous house cocktails-- chilled & refreshing... It looks newer/cleaner/cozier than ever, and has always had some of the best tunes I've found anywhere in Asia available on request (if not already playing!)
I seriously can't wait to get back and enjoy their delicious food & hospitality ASAP... So if you're lucky enough to be escaping from Phuket or cruising the coast in Phang Nga province, please make me jealous and treat yourself to a stop at the Rusty P-- keep that...

Addition : except for the answer we got here on google. You are clearly not saying anything about mushrooms in the menu!
You are 100% not Mexican and not a real chef. Instead of working on your weak performance you are asking questions „ why did you use the toilet then…“ cause I needed a piss…. Has nothing to do with your bad hygene.
unfortunately not what we expected foodwise. Burritos full of mushrooms… not used to that and it does not belong in a burrito as far as we know and experienced. Beans and tacos were ok but no salt or seasoning, therefore lacking flavour. The tacos were not tacoshells as in crispy, but soft. I hope you take this as an advice and can work on the seasoning. Also the toilet is in the open kitchen…so everybody can pass the kitchen, does not seem...
Read moreInitially ate in this restaurant when it was on the bang niang road down to the beach. Now relocated on the main road (route 4) just up from the Moo Moo cabaret location. The food is still as good as it was the first time we visited. Had the pulled pork and beef enchiladas which come with rice & proper black beans. They also offer a good drink selection & frozen cocktails which is just perfect for the hot weather ! We also ordered a takeaway pulled pork sandwich one rainy evening which was tasty. Liked the fact the chips were also seasoned . Prices are very reasonable & portion sizes good. Owners are very welcoming & the restaurant is very clean & inviting. Definitely worth a visit when you want a change...
