Unfortunately this "German" bakery is really really bad. I am German, so I know what I am talking about. I ordered six or seven different kind of bakery (pretzels, poppy seed, krapfen, rustic baguette, ciabatta and rye spelt seed bread). One was worse than the other. The "rustic baguette" should have a real thick crust, instead it was soft and wobbly, consistency of rubber, maybe the worst peace of any bakery product I have seen in my life. The krapfen was half size, but double weight than usual, so instead of big and fluffy and delicious this was like a rubber ball. The brezels should be dark brown like a chestnut and the inner side crispy, they were just light brown (more like gold color) and even the inside was chewy like rubber. Poppy seeds where white (!) instead of light brown. How do you do this? Does your oven not exceed 100° Celsius??? The bread I ordered was (of course...) also without any crust, but at least not as bad as the other stuff (not good but at least eatable). The only good thing in my complete order was the apricot jam inside the krapfen (probably bought from darbo, a good Austrian brand).. As bad as it is, this bakery would not survive one week in Germany. I was really excited and looking forward to it, when a friend told me that finally there is a German bakery in Bangkok. But sorry,...

Do you know this amazing Sunday morning craving feeling? The one awaking you with excitement and watering mouth? You see what I am talking about?

In my case, I woke up with a craving for a wonderful roast beef sandwich!

medium rare juicy beef slices just sitting on top of fresh salad leaves and gorgeous tomatoes slices freshly cut from the garden, seasoned with a delicate, sour and fatty mayonnaise dressing.

All that ingredients would have been amazing on their own but the cherry on the cake and what makes this dish a state of the art craving… is this amazing crispy baguette freshly baked from the morning with an outstanding smell of roasted wheat!

I am sure you guys see what I am talking about! Every decent gourmet must have experience that in his humble life.

Back to the point, after spending some time in bed browsing for the best places to fulfill my needs; I came across a more than promising bakery with mouthering picture of my dear sandwich!

Well as you can see from the pics attached… my disappointment was as high as my craving…

Dear owners, it seems that you are misleading your customers as much as your mistreating your beef and your bread.

The salads and tomatoes were ashamed to be part of this sandwich.

Messing with people’s Sunday morning craving is not nice.

However very nice places with...

A cozy little house turned bakery not too far from Ari BTS station.

Upon walking in you’re greeted by a table filled with fresh baked goodness. It all looked so good—I didn’t know what to choose.

I settled on a blueberry danish and a hot black cup of coffee. The blueberry topping on the danish was tasty, fresh, and not too sweet, but the bread itself wasn’t as fresh. The coffee was good. I will give this place another chance to win me over. The two items cost 161฿.

The lady who helped me, and who I presume is the owner, was very friendly and attentive. I’m sure she’s the one holding this place together.

I went out back to sit in the garden area which was nice. I really enjoy sitting outdoors in a nice quiet garden setting. In the heart of Bangkok, places like this are disappearing quickly. There is also seating inside on the main floor and upstairs.

📍Located a short 5-10 minute walk from Ari BTS station. A few parking spaces available.

Nice ambience, average food. What left a bad taste in the mouth is the appalling wait times and poor service. Ordered a brioche bread (among other things) at 750am, place was relatively empty. Brioche did not come even though people who had ordered after us were already getting their food. When I checked in with the staff at 810, she told me that they had many orders (she did not bother to check with the kitchen then). 20 mins later, we were done waiting and wanted to request a change of item to takeaway, only then did the same staff admit that they had forgotten our order and were already preparing it. No apology was given until I had to ask a third time as we needed to rush off. Altogether we waited 45 mins for a brioche bread that could have easily been prepared in 5 mins. The one saving grace was the free bread that was given afterwards by an apologetic staff (different from the one before).
