I was excited to visit this place, and I have to say that I didn’t dig it. I will definitely give it another visit and revise my review appropriately, should it be warranted. It has a lot of promise of very delicious things. We went in the mid-afternoon, with hopes of buying a loaf of sourdough. When we got there, almost everything was sold out. We left with a ciabatta roll and and a loaf of Italian bread. Haven’t tried it yet. I will make sandwiches over the next week. My girlfriend ordered a dish to eat there in the shop called ‘nam prik rong reua’, which was some rice, vegetables, and pork. I tried it and it was just ok. We also split a chicken and mushroom pie that had good flavor, but nothing that set it apart from anywhere else. I ordered a ham sandwich on an Italian baguette and I asked for some sliced salami to be added. My girlfriend did the ordering, so I don’t think anything was lost in translation. I ended up with a ham sandwich and a salami sandwich. Oh well. I did enjoy the ham sandwich and the bread was very good. I will try the salami sandwich tomorrow. I also thought the cookies looked good and I bought a bag of cashew cookies and a bag of peanut and chocolate chip cookies. I tried one of the latter cookies and found it hard and crumbly and overly-sweet. There were hardly any chocolate chips in the cookie. I won’t try those again. Like I said, we will be back, because we initially went for bread and the bread that I did end up trying was very nice. Everything else was...
Read moreWe are regular, coming about once a week, leaving at least 1000 baht. Today they made a huge mistake in the bill, adding four items we didn't order, or ordered but they didn't have. When we showed it to them, they told us it was our mistake. Then, when I showed them I could read Thai, they told us they needed to check. It took them over 25 minutes to fix the problem, during that time they talked with each other, blaming US! They didn't realize I could speak and understand Thai.
After long 25 minutes, in which they looked at us like criminals, they gave us a partial amount of money, even though they admitted there was a problem on their side. Upon returning the money to us, they quietly told us to leave immediately and not to ever come back, in these exact words, that rude male manager and the female in charge on the counter!
We shockingly left, without asking for the extra money they mistakenly charged.
I can't understand why they behave like that. Seems like they can't deal with problems, not even ones they are responsible for.
We will never ever come back and encourage all customers to thoroughly check their bills.
On the positive side, we liked their food and drinks, as well as the positive attitude of...
Read moreSuch a lovely place with a nice atmosphere, delicious pastries, and reasonable prices. They have a variety of great cakes, and desserts, my favorites being the souffle cheesecake and a lemon tart 😊 . It's definitely a place that I would return to every now and then, especially during the weekdays as on the weekends it can get a bit too crowded and loud. The drinks are also great, the coffee is well-made, and the fruit tea is refreshing. I haven't had a chance to try the smoothies yet but I'll be looking forward to that the next I visit this bistro! As for the staff, everyone so far was very kind and friendly. A small nitpick that I have for this place, however, is that it seems like the recipe for the drinks (in my case the iced coffee) changes every time depending on the barista. It's obvious that everyone makes the drinks differently depending on their preferences, but it does get a bit frustrating that the drink is very different every time I order it. At one point, it was too sweet, the other unsweetened, but sometimes it is just right. It's a small detail, but I'd prefer to have a more consistent recipe every time I order it. But overall, it's a...
