Anantasila Beach Restaurant Hua Hin — Restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Basically a HUGE rip off.

Nice enough small resort , restaurant and pool , beach side. Menu looked professional and inviting. German Chef alongside a Thai.

Staff very friendly , but a 'strange' sensation coming during conversation with the person I presume is the manager. Felt like he was 'concerned' that I was not 'suitable' as a customer

I bought 3 small bottles of Leo Beer and on the menu these were priced at a shocking 150 baht each.

But the sting in the tail comes when they present the bill.

529 baht includes Tax and Service Charge. An imposed service charge is never acceptable and is a sign that the greedy owners of the business do not pay the staff adequately , so passing this on to the customers.

So per 320ml bottle , 176 baht.

Total Con.

The Classic ' Trick' is to ask customers to sit at the bar. Then you get charged for 'service' . But this is not the fault of the bar staff. It is a trick imposed by the management ( owners ).

If you sit at a free table and collect a beer yourself from the bar.. no service charge is 'due'. Only other places I came across this sharp practice were in a Hotel at Heathrow Airport, The Ibis Hotel in Patong and now this venue in Hua Hin. But even without the 'Tax' and the service charge , this is WAY too expensive

Only suitable for seriously Rich ( and stupid ) Western customers , meaning 100 million baht or more in their bank. But perhaps they 'rely' on the ignorant tourist to get away with this SCAM.

Only give rating 1 star for food as I did not eat on this occasion. But I never will eat at this venue for the reasons above. I felt I had no choice but to make this review.

I do not anticipate any response from the manager of this business , simply because there is no justification for their 'business model' here in Thailand. I will wait with Zero expectation.

Quite honestly, I wasn’t looking for magic—I just happened to find it. This resort is the kind of place that feels like it was pulled from a dream: elegant, serene, and impossibly beautiful.

Everything about it whispers luxury, from the flawless design of the rooms to the gentle attentiveness of the staff. The service was polished, warm, and friendly. Though for me, a bit too attentive, but I think that's expected in this atmosphere. They are really good at making sure you have everything you need, always, right away, even if you don't need them they are right there ready for when you do. The food was enjoyable, the kind of meal you linger over simply because the atmosphere makes you want to slow down and savor every moment.

The pool? A shimmering oasis that practically begs you to stay just a little longer. It’s the kind of space where time softens around the edges and you forget the world exists beyond the gates.

I came for the disco party—and I stayed far longer than planned. The crowd was vibrant, the music infectious, and there was this shared, electric joy in the air. Good times don’t quite cover it. It was golden.

Even if just for an evening, this place feels like a romance...

We dined here for the first time on Thursday, March 28, 2025 at around 1900.

Ambiance - lovely! Live music (good singer), gentle breeze, feet in the sand (we were seated outdoors), white lights strung between trees, kids flying kites by the water (despite being dark).

Service - great! Professional, attentive but non-intrusive

Food - good. Bread was offered (several options to choose from on a big tray). We ordered 2 soda waters, 2 coke zeros, an appetizer of fresh spring wraps, and 2 entrees (Wiener schnitzel and prawn, mango, avocado green salad).

Presentation - well done. Cute wash cloth idea (dry fabric log which you dip into water for it to expand for use… think bathtub expandable toy), flowers on appetizer plate, dressings/sauces served separately, oil/vinegar, salt and pepper on table.

Price - 1718 baht included VAT and 10% gratuity. A bit high for Thailand for what we got, but we went for the ambiance.

Resort - nice! Gorgeous flowers, infinity pool, Asian decor at entrance, beachfront

Location - 4.9km south of Bangkok Hospital HH on Phet Kasem Rd.

Recommendation - if this place is in your budget,...
