We had dinner at this restaurant last night. Two adults and one child. We do not stay at the Anantara resort but made reservations after reading online reviews. Unfortunately our experience at the restaurant was not very positive.
The staff made us feel very welcome upon arrival. We were guided to our table and wet towels were presented for our hands. But then…nothing. After 20 minutes we had to ask to see the menu. And just 5 other tables were occupied at that time. First we ordered drinks and then our food.
My Fizzy Pomegranate cocktail had a long black hair on top of it. Quickly a new one was served but we were not off to a good start.
For our son we ordered French fries. My partner ordered the lobster and I chose sea bass. On the seafood page of the menu, there are just 6 dishes to choose from, 3 of them are sea bass. Ten minutes after putting in our order the server came back to tell me that (unfortunately) there was no sea bass that night. I switched to salmon instead.
Our food was served intermittently. Our son received his French fries 15 minutes prior to my dish. His fries were cold when served. We didn’t tell the staff, the fries would get cold anyway because of the pace our 3-year old son eats. The salmon is THB 660 including tax. The taste was fine but the portion was very small, maybe 100 gram. It is served only with a sauce, so I had ordered sides. The side dishes (spinach and jasmin rice) were served 10 minutes before the salmon arrived. So they were cold by the time I ate them and the jasmin rice was very dry.
Our bill was around THB 3000. Overall very overpriced for the quality of food and service. Not once were we asked if we enjoyed our food. An opportunity for us to give constructive criticism. For this review I left out some extra details that went wrong with the service. Those are details that would not be noticed if everything else was up to standard.
We left disappointed and will never recommend this...

But where the cracks started showing was the service. Unfortunately, time after time dishes or drinks were forgotten. None of the dishes came at the same time. The table was not cleared or only cleared half in-between the courses. And the accompanying side-dishes for almost half of the dishes only arrived at the table 15 minutes or more after serving the main dish. One thing that could be to our taste, but the whole seabass was not to our liking. We were not sure if it was the freshness or the cooking method. But the fish was dry and for some reason dark within. Not how we are used to eating it from the grill in for example Spain.
But we do want to complement the chef on the Tuna, the Octopus, the Amuse, the steak tar-tar, and the Sous Vide shrimps. Really tasty and beautifully served.
To the restaurant-manager, or to the chef Patrick Vitti, you also have a clear mistake in the menu. You mention an Iberico Lamb-rack. But that’s an impossible combination. Iberico is a Spanish breed of black pork which is amazing, but obviously not lamb or sheep. This does not exist.
The people are all so friendly. But there is no clear leadership with someone taking charge and ownership of the processes.
We will try again...
Read moreJuly 2025 Sea Fire Salt is a new beach front restaurant which is located in Anantara Resort and we visited it for dinner on Saturday night, 5/7/25. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere! Everything was beyond perfect—I was ready to give the restaurant a six-star review. We loved our meals so much that we returned the following Wednesday to enjoy the same dishes again. While the service remained excellent, the food was noticeably different and not as impressive. We were surprised by such a big change.
After speaking with the staff, we learned that there was a different chef in the kitchen that night. The chef who prepared our incredible meals on Saturday was named Man, and we will definitely be coming back only when Man is cooking. The ribeye steak and yelloweye tuna were unforgettable, as well as a butternut soup and all the side dishes that we had.
Based on our first visit, I am still happy to give Sea Fire Salt a 5-star review and hope the quality continues to be as exceptional as it was that Saturday night.
The venue’s setup is ideal, with a luxurious yet cozy interior, breathtaking views, and outstanding service. Thank you, Sea Fire Salt team, for a memorable...
