เฮือนล้านนา ระนอง Lanna House Ranong (อาหารเหนือ) — Restaurant in Ranong Province

Well, it's story time. I was passing through Ranong with my girlfriend on our trip to Ko Phayam. That night I searched for food near me and found this highly rated restaurant called "Lanna House Ranong" - it had the best reviews in the area! I decided to give it a try with my girlfriend and asked the owners of the loft we were staying at and they confirmed that this place was good. We ordered a taxi to get to the restaurant. When we arrived, they had several tables and only 3 people working, they were running around like crazy trying to get food on the tables. They told me that the food might take a while to come out because they were short on staff as they had one or two unexpected quits. My girlfriend and I waited patiently to be served and I can tell you one thing... the wait was totally worth it. The food was amazing, I've been traveling around Thailand for over a month now and this was by far the best, I mean the best food I've ever had on this continent. Let’s just say that my girlfriend doesn’t even like anything that has to do with fish, especially shrimp, and when we asked for a recommendation for dishes, the husband told us that one of the tastiest dishes was fried shrimp with tamarind and I have a video of her enjoying every bite! To finish off after dinner we stayed up talking to them about their delicious food and its history, also about places to visit in Ranong and OMG it got super late and we couldn’t find a way to get back to the hotel and with extreme kindness the husband offered to take us, he didn’t want to take any payment for the trip and his words were that a friendship was not based on an exchange of money. We even went to the hot springs the next morning just because he recommended it to us! If you have the chance to go to this restaurant DON’T HESITATE and tell her that the Englishman and the Colombian sent you. They literally cook...

If there was more stars I would give it ! We came to ranong with not much knowledge or any ideas of what to do and Micheal who I’m presuming is the owner was more than helpful in every aspect when we ordered our food my partner ordered Khoi soi with chicken and she doesn’t like the bones so Micheal suggested that he could remove the bones (I think is very nice ) he then asked her how spicy she liked her food and then proceeded to bring out a small bowl for her to test the spice level ! Absolutely incredible hospitality! The food tasted so authentic and was by far the nicest food we’ve got since coming to Thailand ! I am also type 1 diabetic and it was only after eating that Micheal found this out and he then got his wife to write me a few pointers in Thai like - “not too much sugar “ and “no sugar “ so in future I can show it to restaurants in future because of course I’m not supposed to use too much sugar daily and the Thais put lots in their dishes. Micheal then wrote us out a full piece of paper of ideas and activities in ranong and surrounding areas. Very lovely man with a very beautiful restaurant serving top of the range Thai food ! We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere. The place is spotless — very clean and well taken care of, which immediately gave us a great first impression.
