Garden Court — Restaurant in Ratchadaphisek Subdistrict

Summary: A BIG disappointment, slow, tasteless food, poor service, and not cheap!

Why do we go to a restaurant? For great tasting food obviously, unfortunately, they don't have it!

Mom wanted to have some dim sum and Chinese food. I tried to book several restaurants around Bangkok but they all were full (being a day before Mother's day). We were lucky to be able to make a reservation here.

Parking is pretty easy, big and empty lot, a bit of a long walk if you are coming via MRT. The restaurant is large and spacious, nicely decorated and relatively clean. They have several private rooms for dinner party or biz talk during a meal.

We ordered several baskets of dim sum and dishes of Chinese food. It took about 40 mins for the first round of dim sum to arrived which is unusual for a restaurant this size and there were maybe only 6 out of 30 tables occupied. I started to wonder why this restaurant is so voided of people and got my answer after several bites of the dim sum. There were horribly tasteless. After about an hour, seafood fried rice and stir fried noodle arrived with the same bland taste. My last hope hot and sour soup... failed. Jelly fish in sesame oil... epic failed! We couldn't finished many of the dishes.

As for the service, the waiters and waitresses were nice and courteous. But there weren't around very often, perhaps understaffed, we had to pour our own refills.

If you have an SCB visa card, it's good for 15% discount! Perhaps this is the only good news.
