A very nice cat cafe. The staff are very friendly and admission costs 159THB, for which you get a drink. I think that's absolutely right and a fair price.
As the other reviews say that the cats are sick or on sedated with drugs, I absolutely cannot confirm this. All the cats made a lively and healthy impression. Many of them are pedigree/persian cats. It is normal for these cats to have watery eyes and have difficulty breathing. However, this does not mean that they are directly ill. In my opinion, all the cats were in a healthy and good condition. All the cats were very well groomed and had very soft fur. They were very bright, interested in me and immediately came to cuddle me. The café also has parrots and I had the impression that the staff treated the animals very lovingly and that the animals really liked them.
Now to my improvements:
I think the cats should be offered toys to keep them occupied. Unfortunately there were none. The furnishings could also be more lovingly designed. There were no cat baskets or cushions for the cats. Nothing for cuddling. This could be easily and quickly implemented with a little money.
3 toilets, 2 food bowls and only one water bowl is definitely not enough for so many cats. More drinking facilities could be set up for the animals.
I also think that children under the age of 14 do not belong in a cat cafe. There was a mother there with her 4 children, who she couldn't control at all. The children aged 2-6 were screaming around, chasing and teasing the cats and trying to carry them away. Children of this age simply have no sense of how to treat animals with respect.
All in all, a lovely café with very loving, bright and healthy cats. I've been there twice and...
Read moreI visited the Doo cat cafe today as I love cats and have two of my own back in England. Before going to this cafe I read reviews as you do and i’m here to clear them up. Upon entering the cafe I was greeted by a very lovely lady. There is a smell of urine in the cafe, but this is distinguished by oil burners they are spread throughout which smell lovely must I add. I met every cat in the cafe, they are well fed and looked after. I have read some reviews regarding the cats looking unhealthy and possibly needing to go to the vets this is INCORRECT and just an assumption from some people who have nothing better to do than leave negative reviews. I spoke with the lady in the cafe regarding some background information on the cats, majority of the cats in the cafe are rescued from Bangkok and due to most of them being Persian they unfortunately come with health conditions similar to my french bulldogs I have back in England it comes with the breed. Every cat was healthy, flea free, very friendly and open to cuddles and being petted. The environment was cleaned, they had plenty of water bowls scattered across the cafe. Yes they have litter trays which are emptied often and out of view in another room. Yes the cat littler can have urine and poo in them but with over 100 cats it is not possible to empty after every time they use the toilet. Overall this cafe is definitely a place to visit if you are in Phuket and no these negative reviews aren’t correct and unfortunately some people are very uneducated and make assumptions without speaking with staff in the cafe who are open to tell you each cats story. PLEASE VISIT THIS CAFE IF YOU LOVE CATS, they appreciate...
Read moreI really love cats, especially Persian, American Shot hair or any kind of these. This place has many cats — I didn’t count, but I guess around 30–35. However,
I didn’t see any water or food provided for them, and I didn’t see the owner, just a AsianLady (myanmar)staff who could not understand Thai during my visit.
Some of the cats looked unhealthy to me. A few were drooling, breathing heavily, or making strange sounds. This could be due to stress, illness, or other health problems. A cats like the one in my photo (a brachycephalic breed). I can usually see and tell the difference between a healthy cat and one that may need help.
I gave 2 stars mainly because a few cats were very sweet and came to sit beside me — they made me smile. But overall, I was disappointed.
The drinks are expensive, and I didn’t see any clear guidelines or support for visitors. It feels more like a business to take photos or watch these cute cats. In my opinion it is not a proper café with care for cat or especially education about the animals. You must buy at least one drink (about 150 baht), which might include a visiting fee — but it's not clearly explained.
I highly recommend, to take the cats to a vet and do a health check. some of...
