I’ve been meaning to write a review for awhile now as I hadn’t got the chance to get around to it, as we sadly haven’t eaten Mexican food since, due to our experience’ at Unnis. The atmosphere was perfect, very busy which we thought would lead to a very pleasant night. This place came recommended to us before we arrived in Phuket. The cost of food was of western food in our country, so it lead me to believe the food would be of 10/10. We were seated next to a group of about 6-8 men who obviously were intoxicated, they were having shots, talking about d#%gs & the women they had been with, along with a lot of swearing. Generally that would have been fine, if we weren’t dinning out with our children & them having to hear about things they’ve never heard of before. I’m not sure if the staff are trained or aware of how to seat people in the right places, so everyone can enjoy the experience. Especially for what they deserve & paying $$$$ for. We tried to ignore however it became too much! I asked the staff if we could move, they declined our request & said it was impossible to move us, however inside clearly had tables free. I tried to negotiate that we will just eat & leave, we STILL got a flat out no, Once we did sit down & our food ‘finally’ arrived, the table inside we asked to move to still wasn’t occupied. Once we finally got the food that took longer than expected, considering it’s fast food restaurant, it was flavourless, soggy & not really it’s all cracked up to be. Then when my husband went to pay, he did say how disappointed how experience was & he was just looked at blankly, shoulders shrugged & told ‘I don’t understand what you’re saying’
As my husband was walking away, he heard, which we now assume is the owner after looking at other reviews & social media. He was SCREAMING Profound language at his staff, throwing things around & acting very poorly, when the whole restaurant could hear him. That information alone made us realise, his the reason the staff don’t care, the food isn’t of quality you ar ‘paying’ for & they don’t care...

Great food selection, nice ambiance.
🍏Green detox (140 THB) - It was sweeter than I expected. Although they put celery decoration, there is no celery inside. Overall taste good.
🫐Berry blast (140 THB) - balanced in taste, not too sweet.
💧Soda water (40 THB)
🌯Burrito bowls (280 THB) - great combination of flavors overall, although I think this dish will be even more excellent in an actual burrito as the ingredients will really be combined together. Only thing I would improve about this dish is the taste of the chicken, which supposed to be ‘Piri Piri’, but you don’t really feel any sign of it.
🍲Mexican beef stew (340 THB) - special of the week. The beef stew was extraordinary, a little bit spicy. The overall taste of the dish is excellent. Served with a small portion of Mexican rice & 2 normal tortillas. Which in my opinion isn’t balanced well - for 340 THB I think they could serve an extra tortilla, and it will allow one to really enjoy it fully. Otherwise you left with half of the stew but no rice or tortillas to go with it - it was strong eating it as it is.
The other big downside of this dish for us is that the kitchen send the dish with normal tortilla instead of the spinach one.
Value for price - prices are expensive, but in most cases will be worth the price. It is the kind of place who fit foreigners looking to eat different & interesting food. The place & food are ‘Instagram friendly’, and in most places when that is the case - the prices are slightly higher.
Service - overall good service, staff speaks English.
Atmosphere - getting busy during early evening time. Great vibe, you will see many foreigners, as the menu is slightly expensive.
Parking - bike parking in front of the resturant, I didn’t see organized car parking around.
Overall great place, which can be ideal for breakfast, lunch or dinner with friends. Health options & vegetarian options...
Read moreFound them through the Grab food delivery app and I'm so lucky I did. Everything I've ordered has been sooo good. Flavorful, full of herbs and memorable taste. Love love it all. If you want western flavors and food that makes you feel clean, light and happy - I highly recommend Unnis 💛 this place is so special and truly you can taste the passion in their dishes.
I've ordered 3 days in a row and can't wait to keep trying their other items ~ I was so sick of the food options all Thai near me and what a relief to find this place. I was missing Cali style food , needed something less greasy than always eating fried stuff or curries, fresher and diet friendly.
Prices are great, portions are filling and ingredients are high quality. This store is so hospitable, Philip (the chef I think?) has been so nice and customized all my orders since I like to have lots of lemon, dressing extra garnishing and he's been kind enough to do so without charging extra which shows me he cares about client experience.
so if you're here I'm going to give you a cheatsheet on what to order. ;) The dishes I highly recommend are :
Chicken Mango Tango with mexican rice - juicy, clean, x2 chicken breasts with tasty cajun seasoning, HUGE guac portion, freshly diced mango salsa (my fave), arugula rockets and this magical homemade salad dressing they make in the store and a lovely jalapeno hummus for only $330! Its so filling we were able to share this dish between 2 and a side
The jalapeno hummus avocado big slice of toast. yummy homemade jalapeno flavored hummus (nice light kick of spice) with generous portion of fresh avocado on premium sourdough toast. Pickled red onion and fresh lime for $220
Shrimp tostada - this was bigger than J expected it comes with 4 seasoned shrimp, avo, lots of cooked peppers, tomato salsa on a bed of crispy tostada and tasty thousand island...
