During my stay in Thailand, I had the pleasure of dining at Tuga Bar & Restaurant, and I must say it was one of the highlights of my trip. The traditional Portuguese dishes were absolutely exquisite, prepared with care and authenticity. Each bite transported me to Portugal, a true culinary journey.
The cocktails were absolutely delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised by the details on the coconuts featuring the restaurant’s logo. This place offers delightful surprises, even down to the presentation of our drinks!
What makes Tuga stand out is the seamless blend of cultures. The fusion of Portuguese flavors with local influences creates a unique and delightful experience. It’s rare to find a place that so skillfully honors its roots while embracing the richness of its surroundings.
The ambiance is another standout feature. The modern, minimalist decor, combined with warm and inviting spaces, creates a serene atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy great food, and truly relax. Every detail, from the lighting to the comfortable seating, has been thoughtfully designed to create a little paradise right in the heart of Thailand.
The hospitality at Tuga is top-notch. The staff made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in, and their service was impeccable throughout my meal. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect, contributing greatly to the overall wonderful experience.
Thanks to Tuga Bar & Restaurant, my stay in Thailand was even more memorable. If you’re looking for a restaurant that offers not only exceptional food but also an unforgettable atmosphere, this is the place. Highly...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at TUGA Bar & Restaurant few weeks ago, the first Portuguese restaurant in Phuket.
The owners, Marina (from Portugal) and Nico (Italian), have created a cozy spot with a fantastic outdoor area, including a swimming pool, steam room, and ice bath—ideal for unwinding after work or just chilling with friends. The ambiance was delightful, with garden lights and a laid-back European vibe.
The food was comforting and paired perfectly with Portuguese wine and sangria. Do not miss the cod fish cakes. While some dishes still need a bit of fine-tuning (they just opened, after all!), the warm service and authentic flavors made for an enjoyable evening. Plus, knowing that many of the recipes come from Marina's mom adds a real homemade touch to the experience.
Highly recommend checking this spot out!
Thank you, TUGA, for a...
Read moreWow wow. Ordering a pasta dish in Phuket is always a bit of a gamble, but the mushroom pasta was probably one of the best dishes I’ve had here in the last three months (and I love Thai food so that’s really saying something). The house wine was also extremely good quality for being ‘house’.
Our waiter Jenny was the sweetest, and the management here are extremely attentive and show the kind of warm hospitality that is now so hard to find. It went a long way.
I look forward to coming back for the day and using their steam room, pool, and ice bath facilities, which are seriously flying under the radar! Great hidden gem....
