If you’re planning a trip to Bangkok, Thailand and have a passion for Japanese cuisine, particularly the intricate and personalized experience of omakase, then Shoko Omakase in Bangkok should be high on your list! Located just a convenient 6-minute drive away from the Phaya Thai BTS station, Shoko Omakase has quickly risen to prominence as one of the city’s premier destinations for a top-notch omakase experience!

Omakase, which translates to “I leave it to you,” is a dining style where the chef curates the meal based on the freshest ingredients available and their culinary expertise. Shoko Omakase excels in this regard, offering a menu that not only highlights the chef’s skills but also reflects a deep respect for traditional Japanese cuisine while subtly incorporating local Thai elements.

The restaurant’s interior design is one of its standout features. Upon entering Shoko Omakase, diners are greeted by a harmonious blend of Japanese minimalism and Thai influences. The décor is elegantly understated, with clean lines, natural materials, and a calming color palette that creates a serene atmosphere. This thoughtful design makes it a pleasant environment to unwind and fully immerse yourself in the dining experience.

One of the first things you’ll notice is the spaciousness of the restaurant. Unlike some of the more cramped dining spaces in Bangkok, Shoko Omakase offers ample seating that ensures a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The layout is designed to allow each guest to enjoy their meal without feeling crowded, which is a significant advantage for those who appreciate a more intimate dining setting.

The service at Shoko Omakase further enhances the overall experience. The staff are not only friendly and attentive but also fluent in English, which is a valuable asset for international visitors. Their professionalism and willingness to explain the intricacies of each dish contribute to a seamless and enjoyable dining experience. When it comes to the food, Shoko Omakase truly shines. The restaurant prides itself on using high-quality ingredients to create dishes that are both visually stunning and delicious. Each course is prepared with precision and artistry, showcasing the chef’s skill and dedication. Some of the standout dishes that have garnered praise include the Wagyu Sushi, Salmon Roe and Scallop in Nori, Otoro Aburi (lightly seared Bluefin tuna), and Bafun Uni (premium sea urchin). These dishes are not only flavorful but also demonstrate the chef’s expertise in balancing taste and texture. The Wagyu Sushi, for instance, features melt-in-your-mouth beef that is perfectly seasoned and presented with a delicate touch. The Salmon Roe and Scallop in Nori offer a delightful combination of fresh seafood flavors wrapped in a crispy seaweed shell. The Otoro Aburi is a highlight for many, with its rich and fatty Bluefin tuna enhanced by a brief sear that brings out its natural oils. Finally, the Bafun Uni is a luxurious treat for sea urchin lovers, providing a rich and creamy texture that is both satisfying and indulgent. Shoko Omakase also stands out for its flexible pricing options. The restaurant offers a variety of omakase versions to suit different budgets, making it accessible for a wide range of diners. Reservations can be easily made online, and the restaurant’s diverse course options allow guests to choose a meal that fits their preferences and budgets. Overall, Shoko Omakase in Bangkok offers an exceptional omakase dining experience that combines high-quality ingredients, skilled preparation, and a welcoming atmosphere. Its blend of Japanese and Thai influences, spacious design, attentive service, and adaptable pricing make it a standout choice for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable and authentic omakase meal. Whether you’re a local food enthusiast or a traveler exploring Bangkok, Shoko Omakase promises a dining experience that is both delightful and satisfying! I’ll definitely be back here...

We were very excited to try New omakase places whenever we visit BKK. However this is one of a kind experience we had. We were early prior to our reservation therefore we were taking some pictures first. Once seated down we were being served straight away. The first dish was chawanmushi and it’s supposed to be served hot but it was already cold because they left it outside when we were taking pictures. Ok never mind, then before we could even finish our steam egg, the waitress wanted to clear our plate and the second dish came out. So we nicely told the chef , could you please slow down the courses. He said ok, but same thing happened to the next dish which is sashimi. The waitress also came wanting to clear my plate when I am not done eating. So I told the chef again in a good happy manner, to slow down. SUDDENLY, he said this “ I AM SLOW, but YOU ARE SLOWER”. I was so speechless and asked for the manager. Then the chef just walked away angrily. First thing the manager did not apologise, she just say “I can change the chef for u”, but we didn’t want to continue to stay because it was such a bad service & chef being so ridiculous. So we asked for the bill for the 3 dish served and we don’t want to continue our meal experience.

Another chef came, he asked me: DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS OMAKASE? U have to finish in 1 hour.

Suddenly I was so angry, because i am a GM of an omakase restaurant and my friend is too. I told him there is NONE, omakase that should be finish by an hour. The manager also said she did not mentioned to us that our meal time should be 1 hour. BUT SHE STILL DID NOT APOLOGISE. She offered that we don’t have to pay anything and can just leave.

So, we just left. Basically this is the worst place I’ve visited before with such bad services. We even asked what is the fish name in Japanese, the chef DIDNT KNOW.

I wouldn’t recommend as this place is just trying to serve you like having MCDONALDS. MCDONALDS service is even better...

Reading the Google reviews left me with mixed feelings but we still decided to try it anyhow. It was an great experience as Chef Mos was humble and humorous. This was an experience that didn’t get in Nobu, KL few years back. I’ve only had omakase once in the past (Nobu) but I think this was much better than that if you compare the ingredients, experience and price.

We booked platinum course 2499thb but do note it excludes drinks and 10%+7% service charge and tax. It had 17 courses includes chawan mushi, assorted sashimi(s), engawa tempura, assorted nigiri(s), Hokkaido scallop & unagi hand rolls, wagyu sushi, kani miso, soup, and desserts.

The desserts were mediocre and the uni wasn’t as fresh as compared to the one I had in Osaka’s market & donki sushi store in Malaysia… looking at other reviews it seemed that the dishes are more or less the same so it seems like a set meal instead of omakase using freshest ingredients. Therefore the 4 stars. Would like to note that the flavours of the engawa tempura, Hokkaido scallop hand roll & wagyu sushi were really...
