It was a cloudy day with drizzle on and off as we were driving into Songkhla old town with very narrow roads and some alleys. And then we stumbled upon this joint called "Cafe De Roo" hoping to find a nice cup of coffee to chill. The entrance to this De Roo was a mystery with really old looking brick walls on a narrow pathway into a pleasing and pleasant setup. The main restaurant is on an alleviated platform with a couple stairs climb. The feeling this place generated out was a cozy chill place. We arrived there almost closing time in the afternoon, I think - around nearly " by sam mong laew" almost 3 pm. Manage to order a mixed plate of crispy pork, sausage & moo daeng to munch. Really delicious. We sat awhile and left as it was about to be a downpour afternoon. For now I just feel that this place is a 3 stars rating joint, I have read other giving generous 4 + stars rating. I am curious to find out what I am missing out, maybe I will come on a Thursday as it was stated a popular day...

It’s located in the heart of Old Town. A stone throw away from the lake. Surrounded by very modern coffee shops this place preserved a Songkhla picture of ten, fifteen years ago. They seem to collect everything in here.

Unfortunately, they don't have vegan milk for the coffee, they use plastic straws and they don't offer any vegetarian or vegan food. This is why I give it three stars. Hopefully, this cafe will add a few vegetarian food options to the menu...
