I see that they are taking the reviews quite seriously.
After seeing the reviews, I was a bit worried about going , but though we'd give it a try.
We tried several dishes recommended on the menu: #1 Grilled squid, #2 Fried squid, #4 Padthai with seafood, #6 Grilled crab, #7 Crab with coconut curry, #6 Thai papaya salad with crab meat, and #12 Baked prawn with glass noodle.
They were all decent.
I think the vibe of the place - a local restaurant by the beach - suits the price of the place. The staff were quite attentive and were quite quick with serving.
I think it's a good local place worth visiting but not "extraordinary". I would recommend it with the right expectation.
Final comment - because I kept over hearing people making comments about this very word - Michelin. This restaurant is (and so are many restaurants) simply a Michelin-recommended restaurant. Neither Michelin star nor Bib Gourmand, which means that it was a good restaurant for inspectors. That's it.
And this restaurant was exactly one of those.
(I'm adding this rather flamboyant comment after hearing over and over the people "critiquing" those restaurants during my 4-day trip in Koh Samui - "this restaurant doesn't deserve a star"... It doesn't...

If you’re a fan of authentic Thai food with a focus on fresh seafood, this place is simply unmissable. The quality here is outstanding – a level that’s getting harder to find on the more touristy parts of the island.
We’ve eaten here two days in a row – and guess where we’re going for our last dinner tomorrow? That says it all!
We haven’t had a single dish we didn’t love. Highly recommended are the crispy garlic squid, tom yum seafood, pad khra pow with squid and crab, and the delicious pad phrak. Everything is cooked with care, passion, and a real respect for the ingredients.
One thing that really stood out was the honesty and pride shown by the staff. When we asked about mussels, the chef told us they had some – but they weren’t fresh enough, so he wouldn’t serve them. That kind of integrity is priceless.
We’re staying in Bang Por, and this restaurant has truly won our hearts. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and it’s clear that quality and genuine hospitality are at the heart of everything they do. Don’t miss out – enjoy every bite, and make sure to thank the people who still care about real food...
Read moreExtremely disappointing big experience. Feel taken advantage of! 100B for water!! We have eaten here many times and always head back when we are on the island. The food is reasonably priced and the location on the beach is lovely. However, we have just left and paid 200 baht for water! On arrival we asked for water. When it arrived, I noticed it was a bottle of Evian. I thought this was strange but didn’t question it. BIG MISTAKE! The bill is always in Thai, and I noticed 200 at the bottom. When I questioned it, they said it was for water. WATER! I was so annoyed I just had to leave as what is the point in arguing, it gets you no where. We paid and left abruptly. It’s not a matter of the money as we would’ve left at least 100 baht tip. It’s more the principle of feeling taken advantage of. Safe to say we will not return again. Has left a very...
