Edit: A diner should not have to ask / request the establishment for a reasonable amount of meat in their dish. There should be sufficient content reflecting the price in the first instance and thus saving the diner the slight ignominy of having to ask.
I would urge the reader to check many reviews further ‘down the page’ before deciding on this restaurant.
Prawn dish had just 4 prawns in it for 320baht. The lamb special had very few lamb pieces and way too much sauce (450baht) after the meal, the dish had 3/4’s sauce left over.
Chicken Korma had a large volume of tomato sauce in it (we’ve never had tomato sauce in a korma) and very little cream (although they added a little more which helped)
My Chicken tikka masala was way below par compared to many others I’ve had. The pilau rice (which I asked for) was boiled rice with peas (there was a translation issue) although it was quite nice. The garlic naan was the best I’ve ever had.
Overall, with two cocktails and two waters, the bill was 2,616baht it was a disappointing experience. The location is very, very nice. We left wondering if the food was more catered to the Indian palate rather than ‘western’ tastes.
In our opinion, Tandoori Nights in Lamai is far superior and at a more...
Read moreWhile exploring Koh Samui, we stumbled upon Flavors of India, and initially, we were unsure about indulging in Indian cuisine on this tropical island. However, our hunger and the beautiful ocean view, accompanied by cold beer, led us to give it a try. To our pleasant surprise, it turned out to be a fantastic dining experience.
The location of Flavors of India is simply breathtaking, overlooking the ocean, providing a serene backdrop to our meal. We couldn't have asked for a more picturesque setting. The restaurant's ambiance was relaxing, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the food. The flavors and dishes served here were nothing short of fantastic. The authentic Indian style cuisine, prepared by the talented Mataji, impressed us greatly. Each bite was a journey through the rich and diverse flavors of India. It was a delightful surprise to find such high-quality Indian food on the island.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Flavors of India, and it exceeded our expectations. It goes to show that sometimes, the most unexpected culinary adventures can turn into the most memorable ones. If you're in Koh Samui and craving Indian cuisine, this hidden gem is definitely...
Read moreI ordered plain penne for my baby. Just boiled pasta with olive oil. It was 160 bath in Menu (penne with tomatoes and basil). They brought the pasta, but it had some black spots (maybe pepper, I was not sure). And they took 160 bahts! For plaine pasta even without salt! I was shocked. “The boss said” they said. I'm really disappointed with it - so expensive for boiled pasta and even this they could not do properly.
And my daughter could eat the pasta because of this pepper or whatever it was.
P.S. It was just boiled pasta. Nothing else. Why do I know it? Because like you said “we cooked pasta like you asked”. And I asked BOILED pasta and drop of oil. And of course I tried it. And I have a picture by the way.
You decided to make “a dish” and ruined everything with the pepper. My daughter could not eat it! If she liked I would say nothing about price. But all this in common - completely disappoint.
So… I recommend you not to say a lie - it’s so obvious - and learn how to make pasta. According to reviews it’s not your forte. One star is too much for your boiled pasta, really. Boiled pasta and drop of oil and tonnes of lies in...
