Beachlounge — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

We Recently visited Thailand and had such a fantastic time. The people were friendly, kind and very welcoming. This was however, the complete opposite experience of how we were treated at this particular restaurant. The French manager/owner was the rudest, most aggressive man I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. The meal started well with drinks etc but when we asked ‘politely’ why the food was taking so long (55 minuets) we were approached by the owner and verbally abused. He used unacceptable language and basically made us feel very unwelcome. He got aggressive, angry and was completely out of line. He needs to be in a mental asylum not running a restaurant! My partner and I came here for dinner and ordered the duck leg. We were the only customers in the restaurant, and we have Mo idea why the server was gone for 30-35min before telling us that they were out of duck leg, but can provide duck breast instead for a much higher price - no discount or accomondation for being out of stock and making is wait. We only had a certain amount of cash left and couldn't get the duck breast even if we wanted to, and had to leave the restaurant hungry and eat somewhere else. We decided to visit after reading all of the reviews and we were about a 20-30 minute taxi journey away near Haad Rin, so it worked out well.

The atmosphere was brilliant, so calm, cosy and relaxed. We had a drink outside on the stone step and then were brought inside (which is still practically outside, thankfully) and treated to the nicest food I had in Thailand and one of the nicest meals I've ever had in general.
