Chi Samui — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

After being recommended by a fellow guest at our villas, my family (husband and 2 sons) and I visited Chi for a relaxing day by the beach in a place that has a chilled vibe and excellent service and it did not disappoint!

From the second we entered we were welcomed by the most friendly and welcoming staff who showed an interest in us as people as well as guests - taking the time to speak to us and made a great effort with our eldest son (23) who has severe learning difficulties; it was a busy but not crowded day which enhanced the atmosphere and the music was at the right level for what we expected.

We spent the whole day here and after speaking with the manager Gaëtan, decided that we would reserve a table for the Friday night cabaret. We attended the cabaret last night and it was absolutely fantastic; family friendly show of singing and dancing all while being attended to by our most fantastic waiter THAR, who absolutely made my 13 year old son’s night by just being interested and making him laugh and smile so much. With service like this from genuine staff you cannot go wrong.

The food is absolutely delicious, we had all different starters and main courses and we were asked if we wanted a break between the courses so we were not rushed in the least which again adds to the relaxed vibe of this beautifully run experience. I had the seafood linguine which was incredible, the size of the mussels was unbelievable. We had a couple of bottles of wine which were delicious and again our glasses did not remain empty for long before someone was asking if we wanted them filling.

We will definitely be going back for another day before we return home.

Chic and stylish beach club

From the moment you enter this beautiful establishment by a magnificent wooden door you are in awe of the sensational view, pool, stylish decor and attentive service.

Chi Samui beach club is the perfect place to chill out and relax for an afternoon by the pool drinking cocktails with friends, or just with a great book on your own. The pool is stunning and the beach club is very picturesque.

You can also lounge down by the beach on very comfortable beanbags, they also have great beanbags to soak up the sun while in the pool.

It’s very private and feels very exclusive, but is available for all to enjoy. It’s also perfect to watch the majestic sunsets of Samui during the evenings.

The restaurant is upon entry and you can dine indoors or outdoors by the pool. The food is exceptional and Andrew (Exec Chef) has a great menu and all dishes are perfection, has a great selection of international including local cuisine Thai. The Wagyu burgers are a must or just work your way through the starters which are fabulous for sharing. Great wine list and weekend packages. The pricing is very reasonable and they accept credit cards. Both lunch & dinner are superb settings, there is also a stunning table of 12 with a water feature flowing through the centre with a waterfall effect.

The service team is an absolute delight and they all have quirky and friendly personalities (especially Khun Wut & Khun Sai), you feel incredibly welcomed and part of the family....

Absolute disaster. No respect for the client. We felt ripped off for nothing.

We were at NY Eve party where they packed 1,000+ people into a space that was woefully insufficient.

The queues were ridiculously long—waited over an hour just to get a drink. For what we paid, there was zero exclusivity or even basic organization.

Drinks were a complete rip-off. Charged 400 baht per drink for what was essentially flavored juice with no alcohol. We charged 4,000 baht onto the bracelet, yet after buying just 5 drinks, we were told it wasn’t enough. How is that even possible?

After waiting an hour, we discovered the only option left was Vodka Sprite—and this was at the beginning of the night. When we finally got our drinks, there was no vodka taste at all, like it was diluted with water. An absolute scam.

The venue was unbearably crowded and incredibly hot. There were only two toilets for women. Legend has it, some people are still standing in line.

This was our first New Year’s Eve where we didn’t even get to cheers with champagne or any drink at midnight.

To top it all off, when we left - at 12:03 AM (we and other dozens of people) they refused to refund the unused balance on our bracelets. Woah!!!
